that's insane... I figured they'd have more things secured to the ground... or at least a way of securing all but the chairs in case of weather like that :idk:

BTDT. Taking 33 degree roll during a Typhoon near Guam. Scariest night of my life.

THat is pretty crazy  Unsual too because the cruise ships can and will normally change the course and destinations to avoid weather like that last I heard. I guess they couldn't avoid that one.

BDTD times 2. Got hit by a rogue wave in the middle of the atlantic. It pitched me across the skid plating in the engine room. I wrapped my arm around a stanchion and caught my buddy as he was sliding past.
The minute it happened, we had the casualty clearing crew out. Out of a crew of 200, one guy blew his knee out, a cook got burned with grease, one guy cut the tip of his thumb off because he was holing onto a door frame and the door swung shut and countless sprains and bruises.
I love my job. :rockwoot:

After taking several cruises and having good luck on all of them, I cannot even imagine what that might be like....it certainly might change my views on cruising all together.

On one of the dive trips I worked on, the captain didn't pay attention and we got hit broadsided big time: we ended up counting the guests and cleaning up 3 dozen eggs and rice from the galley floor. Luckily all guest were on board - wet but all there - we just lost a lot of of plates and cups....
