Releasing 750 huh? That's a logical number to start with... fucking HD marketing geniuses!

I'm thinking that this model is going to be sold out the first year and that's gonna be it. The enthusiasts will snap them up on the first release and next year it'll be on the show room being mocked by the rest of the Wild Hoggers as girlie bikes.

I do love our night train and the flat paint rocks cause you don't have to polish it:rockwoot:

It's the first HD with an inverted fork. Widely touted as the best handling, best performing Harley Davidson EVAR!

it's a damn harley, and from the sounds of XR1200 I'm gonna guess that it's the Sporty 1200 motor in a XR750 body style. But if it were a 750, I'd actually ponder riding it.

So close to being decent, yet still blown away by the Storz Performance conversion kit version that's been out for a while.

What is so funny about Harley making a decent handling bike?

I'm not much of an H-D fan, but I would ride that. With a few tweaks I'm sure it would be a great bike.

I've read several tests on the thing and it gets high marks from all. It's no 1098, but still a decent bike. The engine has a bunch of Buell parts in it like heads, cams etc. Frame and suspenders are upgraded and cool body work. About the only things I would do, is uncork it with exhaust, maybe look into a 17" front wheel conversion (it has an 18) and tune the suspension for me. Maybe handle bars, but I would have to ride one to see about that.

Even with the color scheme, it looks like it has promise. While most of TMC's line of bikes doesn't appeal to me at all, this one just might. Even better would be a 'night' version - although a tank, some bodywork, and a trip to a painter would 'cure' the visual yuck for me even as issued... :idk:

Try it out and let us know what you think of the suspension, brakes, and accelleration.

The geometry isn't nearly as extreme as Buell and there were plenty of folks who dogged (and still dog) Buells for being "Harleys", but I think there have been plenty of folks who have been surprised by what a Buell can do.

Adrenaline Moto did a really slick XR1200 project:

Not everything is a super sport. Unless you are doing lots of track days, NO ONE can use all that their repli-racer has to offer on the street.

Sometimes having a bike that is spec'd for the street provides you with just that viscreal experience that a bike tuned for the track can't offer.

nice work on that one

harley has a rep for special editions being nothing more than special paint. so if this really IS something more than a standard issue sporster then it may be worth a look as something comfortable but not grossly limiting.

They come in black as well as silver too.

That is sick! As far as street machines...some get it, some don't. There's always gonna be people who are gonna knock a Harley only b/c it's a Harley. Most of those same people have never even ridden one...but will talk shit till they are blue in the face.

Forget the fact that modern day HD's have Showa suspension, Brembo brakes, slipper clutches, fly-by-wire throttle, etc.

The tubers don't handle as well as the XB's, but tuber folks wouldn't DREAM of getting rid of their bikes.

The best way to describe them is as mid 60's early 70's muscle cars. They handle pretty good, but it's the nasty, raw, pissed off quality that they provide that is the attraction.

I agree, just like the busa bashers. Every bike serves a purpose and everyone has different reasons for making their choice or choices on selecting a steed. I think true riders can appreciate any reliable, well put together two wheeled beast. :dthumb:

I can have fun on any thing thats why I kept my lil whore so long even if every dude I ran into said man thats a chick bike. She did her job twisty fun, road trips, and cruising around town.

I def needed more bike though to get better but if I had not banged her up I would have kept her as my commute whore.

Which Tubers? All of them don't handle as good or newer (post-HD aqusition)? The early Buells came with Marzocchi suspension and Marchisini wheels. Do they not handle as well?

I've never ridden a Tuber...but like I've said before...I like the White X1 Lightning. If I was gonna own a tuber it'd be that one.

They handle REALLY well, but don't handle as well as the XB line. The geometry wasn't as radical and so it isn't as precise. They also don't have all of the mass centralization benefits of the XB.

That said, I've seen folks school newer, more modern bikes on tubers.
