I've been slowly working on this bike for over a year.
Here's where I'm at so far.

F4i Swingarm, wheel, suspension,
600RR tail, seat, cowl
GSXR 1000 front end.
All wires run inside frame

I hope to have it complete by early next year.

Currently I'm searching for a lower clamp, since the one I have is tweaked.

When I first got the bike.
New tail mounted.

Nice streetfighter project you got going... Is it one of those, no or low money jobs where you frankenbike the thing because of cheap or free parts availablity... or are you just trying to make it wicked different...

do you still have the F2 rims? I want em both with rotors for my Hurricane project I'm kinda tinkering with at my leisure.

I figured it'd take you about 1/10th of a second to sniff out this thread...

A little bit of both. I like building frankenbikes.

Bob, I have both F2 rims with rotors, forks, triples, calipers, brake lines, etc...

Pm me with an offer, they are white. They look like they're in good shape. The bike sat for years, it's got only 8000 miles on it.

The frame/swingarm are going to be satin black, not sure about the wheels and the tank/tail/fender.

On one side I'd like something very mute that will blend in, since I'm going to get into trouble with that bike.

On the other side, I'd like to do a wild bright paint job to stand out.

The bike will not have any gauges, just a neutral/oil light.

I wouldn't put any lights on it. Fuck it. And I'd paint everything black. Flat black. Fuck it.

Going to run something like this for a headlight

Using the stock clear 600rr tail light.

That's one of the better streetfighter setups I've seen... I dunno though... I like the raw look of the triples and steering head visible from the front... I'd probably just put some tiny fog lights on there and call it a day.

hey leon did u find the throttle cable and brake cable u were looking for?

Leon
11-30-2008, 10:37 PM
I've thought about that as well. Originally I was going to mount a headlight from a 03-04 gsxr 1000 right between the forks. That ended up not working out.

I'm going to run a little bit of nitrous through it as well, I should be able to fit a 5lb bottle in the tail. It going to be funny passing 750's.

I shouldn't need longer ones. The GSXR front end lowered the bars quite a bit. Just take a look in the pics,

I like it a lot. the F2's are pretty good bikes overall, shouldnt have TOO much trouble running nitrous.

how painful was the swingarm swap?

It wasn't too painful. I have a friend who's an incredible welder. He cut and rewelded the F4i swingarm to fit the F2 frame. I cut down the F4i swingarm shaft, he rewelded it, then I had to drill out the frame in order to fit the wider shaft. Then I had to make a spacer to line up the front sprocket with the rear.

nice, yer making me wish i still had my f1. an old school cbr with modern rubber would be very tempting as a workbike next season

I'm riding the PISS out of mine. when properly tuned, I have NO question it'll keep right up with the newer 600's and1000s in the turns. NO QUESTION. but I do have an ohlins shock on the rear, and sooner or later I'm putting F2 forks with F3 internals on there along with F2 triple trees and maybe rim.

I miss my F2 (42,000 miles on it stolen) and my F3 (36,000 miles on it sold when I got the RC51)

I would buy another F3 in a heartbeat but it tough to find one with a good second gear they wheelie way to good.

Dave

f3s all seem to be deep in the 3000s around here. 1s and 2s are much more reasonable

This is nice... but its almost a sin to put an R6 front end on a Honda.... and then still paint "Honda" on the bottom.

I love the single sided swing arm!

I'm not sure how putting all of that high end equipment on a F2 frame with a F2 motor could make sense to anyone? Oh well, it's his money I guess...:idk:

its not an f2 motor. He has a 900rr lump wedged in there with open pods. Probably sounds free swinging tits
