I have a Paypal account set up.

Here's the deal:

December 19th is the Friday before Christmas.

I'll overnite whatever money has been collected through 5pm that day. They'll have the money on Monday the 22nd.

The funds will be sent via UPS, signature required. I'm open to suggestions for the type of payment that should be sent (Money Order, Cash, Visa/MC/AmEx gift card, etc...)

I know money is tight for a lot of people right now. I'm sure any little bit will help. If nothing else, "buy" a Premium Membership from them.

Because they got hit by a drunk last year. The drunk is fighting the lawsuit, though he's already been convicted criminally and is paying them the princely sum of $50/month. Their medical bills from the crash, combined with the loss of business at their shop while they were laid-up healing, forced them into bankruptcy. That forced them to sell Cycleforums to VS, in order to try and survive.

I dont necessarily think he;s upset that we bailed, but its probably bothering him because he felt he did it to keep cf running for us. Im sure rez didnt plan for all this to happen.

That said, it was unfortunate he didnt even advise us of the change until it was brought out in the open by members. It also bothers me that he sold everything weve ever typed about our personal lives to a company who would love to exploit it to spark controversy and membership.

I didnt donate (I would have, was offline a few weeks and knew nothing about it) so I have no opinion either way. But its unfortunate he didnt aknowledge the act of kindness you guys did in sending them that money.

While my own financial difficulties made it impossible for me to donate, I too feel that it would have been nice for Rez or Nanci to let SOMEONE know they recieved the money. If I understand correctly everyone who donated included their user name which means even if the person who sent the money wasn't available, a bunch of other people were. I did not get a text from them but that doesn't mean it wasn't sent. Verizon has been less than reliable lately and I wouldn't find it hard to believe that something was lost in transmission.
