Same here and I have a few things that were autographed. My one buddy got a bunch of comedians autographs when we went to Opie and Anthonys Traveling Virus tour. Who really wants a comedians signature?

That's more than I would pay. I don't understand it - but it's one of those things that either people won't pay at all... or people will pay thousands. :idk: I don't need proof that I've met people *famous*.

I think you should have broke it up into smaller lots. But its worth a shot anyway.

If you find a collector you should do ok.

Good luck with that Yammer, autographs are more less a personnal value.

I have an autographed photo of Nicky on the 990cc the year he won GP. Is it worth anything:idk:I know what my wife paid for it. Its kinda like art, its only value is to the people that collect it and drive the price up.

Fair enough. Good luck to you. I've got a few autographs...but as I've gotten older I care less and less about them. I've met a few famous people, famous politicians, etc in my line of work. But I've never asked any of them for a picture or an autograph...

The biggest reason is I feel it's EXTREMELY unprofessional and I really don't care all that much.

yeah i agree that just running up to someone famous and begging wouldnt be cool, but most of these i have, the guys were doing autograph sessions, just had to get there early enough or there would be a line a mile long! but a few of those i did get hanging around in the pits, and most the guys were really cool, talked to zemke, tommy hayden and miguel duhamel for quite a while, got my pic taken with several of them and with a few of their bikes! Duhamel even had us retake the pic like 3 times cause he wasnt ready , etc..all in all they were pretty damn cool, cept mladin is an ass!

I think celebs somewhat expect that in that situation. But I'm not there to get pics or autographs...I'm there to do my job. Some of my collegues have no problems asking them for a pic or autograph...I feel they make all of us look bad.

But fans, I think they have every right to ask for autographs and pics.

Do you ever acknowledge that you are a fan of theirs? I agree it would be unprofessional to ask for an autograph, but I think if you did an interview with Eric Buell or Valentino Rossi (or whoever the fuck you like in MotoGP)... I think that would bridge the gap as you could really have an intelligent conversation about their work. I could see that as being acceptable in asking for an autograph.

I never have. I just do my job. However, if I was shooting Erik Buell I might cross the line for a brief moment, I'd definately tell him I was a Buell owner.

Absolutely.

I guess there's also a difference between the celeb in question being a guy who's movies you like and someone who does something that you have a real passion for...

Exactly. That being said...I would love to have Erik sign my bike. Not to increase value or for selling purposes...but because I have great respect for Erik and what he's done. And I love his bikes.
