One that own or have owned previously?

out of like 15 past sportbikes, i would have to say its my current bike, it just does everything very well, though i did like the last R1, i think i still have to give it to the 05 GSXR 1000

The R6 gave me that "Oh shit, this thing shouldn't be this fast.." feeling. I loved it, but it was gutless on the low end.

The Buell is every bit as light and nimble with mountains of torque. I love it. I don't ever want a different bike.

2000 R1.

Only other bike I have owned is a 2002 Buell Blast

Yeah it really was, but I consider myself pretty smart about riding. I've had it since the beginning of may and still haven't pulled the front wheel at all.

Well thats impressive...that can happen without you even trying...especially on a Liter.

I only pulled mine up on a Ride I took to MD going up some Elevation Change Hills...And that was enough for me.

I've also owned many, many bikes over the years but I would say that my '88 V-Max is by far my favorite bike. For that time,it could hardly be touched and it FORCED me to learn how to handle "panic" situations and throttle control!

I have had a truck load and they are all good in their day but kept getting better....so that being said, I guess my last new bike was the best....2006 GSXR 750

I've only owned 2 street bikes. A 1986 V65 Magna was my first ride in Aug of 98, and in Jan of 02 I got my VTX, I liked both bikes a lot, different rides though. I've done all the suspension upgrades and raising parts I can on the X and it's not fast enough in the turns for me anymore. My next bike will be an 08 FZ1 which I'm sure will become my favorite!

95' Ducati 900SP and my 92' FZR600 a close second. Neither did anything as well as the bike I have now, but they both had a lot of soul.
It seems that I usually gauge how much I loved a bike (or car) by how soon after it is gone before I wished I hadn't gotten rid of it.
FZR= 30 minutes, Ducati=2.5 minutes, 69' Plymouth GTX = 5 seconds.

my SV. It's light, flickable, and fun as hell. It isn't the fastest thing on the road but it does the job quite well.

Only owned four streetbikes... It's tough to say at this point... I LOVED my Buell, but the TLR is fucking cash money... For now, it's probably the Buell. Let me do some of the things I want to do to the TLR and it could realistically take that honor.

especially over hills  my first wheelie was a totally unintentional 2nd gear power wheelie. caught like 2 1/2 feet and eased it back down.

Out of 8 sport and standard bikes I've owned over 3 years of riding, my absolute favorite is a tie between the 75 CB550K I used to have, which was a JOYOUS bike to own, and my current Hurricane 600. the EX500's were ok, but they really sucked in performance. I liked the 89 GS500E I had too. I think it took the prize for coolest looking, but the CBR takes it for everything now except fuel mileage.

1975 Kawasaki KX 175. Was a bike I rode for about 10 years, on road and off. I have a million memories... Like Renee telling a guy trying to pick her up in his new Mustang convertible..."Sorry, but this is way more fun..." I learned about motorcycles on that bike.

damn I knew you liked the TLR but figured it was more getting back to the V-Twin from the Honda... nice to see you're back on a bike you truly enjoy.

for me... well I've only owned my ZZR... loved that bike... but there were definite times I'd have rather had something else... mainly when I forgot to reset the pet cock

Well I've only owned 2, but the one I have now has been a longtime object of lust. I just think the '04 to '06 R1's are among the most beautiful bikes ever to come out of Japan.

But I've also got a 'thing' for Nekkid bikes, and both the Speed Triple and the Street Triple make my heart go pitter patter (haven't owned either.... YET).

I'd have to say my Gpz-900r that I rocked before the ZX-11.

Might be because it was the only bike that I didn't have fix.
Could be that it was such a leap forward from 83 NightHawk I had before it.

I've only owned two, a 1992 GSXR 750 and my 2005 Buell XB12R. I've ridden many, GSXR 600's, 750's, TL1000, OTB's Bimota, etc...

By far my favorite is my XB. I love that bike...it's so much fun...and it looks awesome.

I've only had two bikes....the Ninja and the Hornet. There are things I love about both of them, but the Hornet was definitely a far superior bike and more to my taste.

The Ninja is a fantastic little bike, but I prefer a naked 4(or triple :p) over that buzzy little thing.

Tie. I like my 1979 GS1000. It was my first four-stroke, my first superbike, and the first bike I bought new. I still enjoy riding it, so I must like it.

I also like my 1990 CBR1000. My first water-cooled bike, my first fully-faired bike, my first "Oh my God, this thing is fast" bike, and my second superbike. I must like it, since I decided to repair the cylinder head myself. Even though the bulk of the bike is in the garage, I never believed that so many other parts could take up one workbench, one stack of shelves, and part of a floor.

Owned three bikes.

'04 R6- put 19.5k miles on it, zero track days.
'06 R6- put a little over 12k on it, including 7 track days.
'09 R6- got a bit over 2400 and waiting to take it to the track.

I gotta say that the '09 is the truth. It's better handling than my '06 and there's more grunt down low now. The powerband feels like it pulls more, too. Can't wait to track it next year.

Well, I've never sold a motorcycle, so that should tell you something. ;)

Of the three, though, I probably like my 2004 636 the best. It's just a great-feeling bike. I do love the grunt of the GSXR1100 and the comfort of the ZZR, though.

Bikes owned:
1978 Honda 350SL (gave it to my uncle)
1993 CBR60 F2 42,000 miles (stolen)
1997 CBR600 F3 36,000 miles (sold)
2001 RC51 15,000 miles (traded in)
2001 CBR600 F4 16,000 miles (still have its the wifes)
1999 SV650s Track only (still have)
1989 CB-1 400 (azooms favorite)(sold to a friend it was a basket case)
2006 DRZ400SM 5,000 miles (Sold to a friend)
2005 DRZ400SM (wifes other bike but I ride it more)
2006 KTM 450SMR (sold it after crashing in a race and breaking collar bone and ribs)
2000 SV650 (my current street bike)
2008 CRF150R (current dirt , motard and ice bike)

Also had a 1993 300EX and have a LTZ400 quads.

Favorites:

Now my current CRF150r is a real cool bike that I ride the crap out of. From Motard, ice riding, dirt, to mini road racing on Kart tracks its a do all bike.

My 1997 CBR600F3, it was not anything special, was even pretty ugly and had a once totaled title. But I just felt real super comfortable on it even when it was sliding and bucking and ready to toss me in the air at the next corner. I mean I had a head shake all the way down the front straight at Grattan huge enough that the flag guy gave me a thumbs up the next lap. Even then I was still OK with it and did not even slow down. (adjusted the suspension for the next session) but was still comfy the whole time. Wheelies 1st through 6th, stoppies for a block. Total trust in the front suspension. 10.97 in a 1/4 mile. I think I just got lucky with that bike, they can't all be like that, can they?

I used to get on the gas out of turn one after the 3rd time the stock shock bottomed(replaced with a Fox later). But I was comfortable enough to count them leaned over knee on the ground. All this on BT50, BT52 and BT56ss.

I remember with the BT-50s I could dumb the clutch at 7,000 and smoke the tire through 1st and 2nd for about 100yards and never gain traction till high in 2nd gear. Looked real cool but was real dumb. Also used to pull out of gas stations and spin up the rear tire for the last 1/3 of the turn with it kicked out like a foot then pull it up into a wheelie. I would not even try that on anything but the tards and the F3.

I should have been spit off this bike a million times. Yet the only time I fell I had a flat front tire.

Every now and then we would do some real dumb late night trips to GR or South Haven WFO. Man I'm lucky to still be alive.

I've owned only 2 bikes. One was a 1994 Yamaha SecaII. The other a 1996 Honda CBR600 F3 that I basically rebuilt from crashed. I love the F3 but the SecaII was such a fun little bike. Slow as hell but just a fun little bike. I plan to get another SecaII one day. I wish I had my old one but the person who bought it wrecked it... 4 times.

I did like riding my buddy's RC51. Everytime you wacked the throttle it was like getting raped in the ass! Infact his girlfriend got a ZZR600 for her first bike. She rode his RC51 one time and she wouldn't give it back.

I loved the motor on my RC51 but never trusted the suspension and I would get cramps in my hip and my wrist and back would get sore.

The front suspension was great in that when you made a adjustment you could feel just a few clicks. It was bad in that I always felt like I was just waiting to lose the front. It just never felt planted. That may have been the stiff chassis more than the suspension.

I used to call my RC51 stable mable cause it took a lot to turn it and it hated tight corners. Loved the large sweaping corners, like a on-ramp. It was made for the large tracks of europe and thats what it was good for.

Sorry it took me so long to get back in here.

For Streetbikes my favorites have been my '98 Honda VTR1000 Superhawk and my 2001 Honda Valkyrie Interstate.

Track bikes, My favorite is my old 2001 R1. Should've never parted it out. That bike was dialed in and I felt everything on it. My new '05 R1 I cant seem to bond with and I've been riding it for three years. I'm having the suspension redone and resetup before next season. If that doesnt work it's gone...

I love my 04 Honda CBR 1000, I'd argue with anyone that year run of 04-07 were the best looking bikes LOL.... I do agree with whoever said, typically the newer the bike the better overall package it presents. I don't like where a lot of the newer bikes are headed looks wise and that they are losing what little practical features they had.

In second place is my wife's Ninja 500, it's blue and I just love the look of hers not to mention I can lay it sidewayz on any curve known to man:whistle:

Here she is. The first shot is what she looked like a few years back. The guy who owned it before me did not take good care of it and crashed it a few times, so I'm trying to return it to the kind of shape it was in in that first pic.

The second picture is of me riding it during a sportbike riding demonstration thing we did over here. The third shot shows a little better some of the cracks and whatnot in the plastics.

It's gonna be my RC. IMO it's more comfortable on longer rides than my VTX (surprisingly), it's more stable in a turn than the R6 that I rode. The thing really does feel bullet proof, almost like it would take a Mac truck to unsettle it when leaned over.

Most fun street bike? Easily the Hypermotard S. That bike is so fun it should be illegal!

Still, there's nothing like having the 1098 at apex and rolling on the gas. The sound of that pure-bred twin coming to life as it pulls from 5000 rpms is like nothing else. The feeling you get as the torque accelerates you so damn hard you have to hang on for dear life is unreal. There are several times when I've thought "this thing should be spinning the rear right now, but it's still hooking up..." That bike is so at home at full lean that you almost have time to check out the scenery.

By far, I love my Aprilia Tuono. Superbike handling & power, big dirtbike ergos. It's kinda like an overgrown hypermotard, but more power & less Ducati :D

I see myself keeping this bike for a LONG time to come... and if I can find a job where I actually make some damned money, I've got some pretty serious plans for her...

54mm throttle bodies, full 2-2 akra system, 1060cc kit, marchesini's or OZ's, ohlins front & rear, carbon everywhere, etc etc etc. :rockout:

I really like my Mille. Handles great, has about as good a suspension as you can get, has the high torque of a twin, and plenty enough HP for me.

I've only owned 2 bikes as well, EX 250 and my current bike a ZX6RR. I sold the 250 in May, but even still I like my 600 better. Especially since August, when I paid it off. I've ridden other bikes - mostly Kawasaki's and I like them, just not as well as mine. The only other one I rode just a mile to the gas station was a friend's BMW. It was nice. I'm to ride it again as he lost a bet, this time will be a longer ride. But I don't see myself ever wanting his bike.

My first new off the showroom floor bike was a 76 KH400 and for a lot of sentimental reasons it is a favorite. While one of my least ridden my favorite SPORT bike remains my 05 999 Ridden. Ridden far more often and perhaps by definitions used here, not a pure Sport bike My busa with the turbo certainly brightens my daily commute

Tricky:

Best 'old' bike: KH500 (the widow maker)

Best 'fun' bike: Buell S1 Lightning

Maddest Bike: cant choose between the z1000 with the Mr Turbo and 'fingers crossed' brakes or the GSX1400 with the supercharger.

Most outrageous: Last trike I built - Porsche 914 3/4 race tuned, 140mph quarter at Santa Pod.

Worst bike: Benelli TNT, okay as long as you didn't ride it.

Best bike of all: My new modded GSX1400.

What didn't you like about the Benelli?

You have excellent taste!! My wife who is looking over my shoulder is telling me that I am never allowed to play with you with out mental health staff present.
That noted I would love to know what your experience with the TNT was?
Also as a fellow Frankenstein builder (A few years back I put together a GT40 look alike using a tweaked Mazda 13b with a 7.5 Camden Blower on top) you have any pictures of you trike?

Hands down my 99 Tl1000s
Handled, comfort, was very low maint. up until I forgot to tighten the cam chain sprocket bolt once. Got rid of it piece by piece and I had alot of pieces after owing it for a solid 9 years and hording parts.

TLS was a great bike cept the frames used to break at the air box mounts other than that they rocked. A friend of mine broke two of them in the same spot and both were replaced by suzuki, they gave him the parts but would not pay the labor.

I've also owned many, many bikes over the years but I would say that my '88 V-Max is by far my favorite bike. For that time,it could hardly be touched and it FORCED me to learn how to handle "panic" situations and throttle control!

I love my V-Max. My favorite was my 929 before it was stolen though. I've owned a lot of bikes and none of them did everything as well as the 929.

Performance wise, my gsxr is by far the best bike I've ever had but only because I've poured so much into performance parts for it.

My most favorite to just ride...that would have to be the '93, 600 Kat. That thing rode like a dream and ran really well for it's age.

Most fun to screw with people thinking it was slow, the '90 Radian won that one hands down. That thing ran great when most wouldn't expect it.

My latest ride, the '01, 929, is quickly becoming my favorite so far. If I could just get used to the power wheelies, then I will like it much more. :D

I love my Superhawk too. I think it is just about the best all around bike ever made.

I also love the supermoto too though. Grinmaker for sure.

Probably my current 07 R1.

When I rode more with the "Harley crowd" then it would be my BigDog Bulldog.

Other bikes I've owned and enjoyed through the years...

2000 R1

98 ZX9R

93 ZX-11

Honda 600 F2 and an F3

The wife's 07 R6 is fun to ride too but unless it gets real twisty I'd rather be on my R1.
