View Full Version : Need help determining box length.
I'm trying to see if I can ship my TV home. The post office says the box can be 130" max LENGTH. I got the box dimensions here, but I don't know the formula to use to get the length of the box. Any of you guys know?

I'm gonna guess that the "length" they are refering to, is the longest external measurement of the box excluding it's height. So, measure the length and depth, whcih ever one is the longer side, is the "length" they are refering to.

Yeah, I'm on the phone with USPS now. That's basically what they said. I'm on hold waiting for them to tell me exactly how long it is, just to make sure. Thanks.

Fo sho.
117". I'll have to pay a fee, but I get reimbursed at my next base. It's better than putting it on a boat, which'll take like over 30 days to reach Vegas.

Its the overall length if you add all the sides together... if you took a tape measure and ran it around the box... that length.

Wouldnt it be cheaper to buy one here?
Prices on LCD and Plasma TVs have dropped considerably.

I'd sign up.
What determines the length is the widthx2 + heightx2 + the lengthx1. So if I had a box that was w10, h10, L20, the box would be 60" in length, according to the USPS.
I'd sign up.
I bet they would take a bus load of pole smoking ass biters first
