Here's my short list
Alpinestars SMX Plus Boots
Arai Rx-7 Helmet
I also need a back protector, but I haven't really been shopping yet.

Here are some pics of my wish list and sizes so if anyone wants to surprise me with something, you will get the right things.

I need a size 41 in these

I really want Sidi Vertigo Corsas and a Suomy Spec 1R Extreme, as well as a 1 piece suit.

The only thing I NEED are leather pants or a 1 piece suit.

I'd like to have a Rossi Replica AGV helmet.
A pair of Held gloves and some Sidi Corsa's

Chris just got the Hayes Jolly Roger and photos don't do it justice.

I will say, Chris, Sterling and I are ALL fanatics about the RX7 however. Seriously a top-notch lid. You'll be very happy with it.

My wish list? I really don't need anything. I'd like some leather pants, and some kevlar jeans, but since I haven't found any I love, I'll just wait till I do. Other than that, I'm pretty well-stocked.

Oh yeah, and there's a pair of Dainese gloves (can't think of the name of them at the moment -- they're a shorty, black textile with beige 'roo palms  ) I've been eyeing for like two years, but just keep forgetting to pick them up.

After my first Arai RX7 saved my life, I went right out and bought another one, and it is the best helmet ever...

The only piece of gear I NEED is a pair of riding pants. I would like to find a pair of Teknic Chicane pants to go with my Teknic jacket. I would then have a two piece suit.

Otherwise I have good gear.

Arai RX7 and AGV Stealth lids
Sidi B2 boots
Dianese and Alpinestars gloves
Teknic and MotoGP jackets

Just a heads up to anyone looking for a 1 piece suit.

New enough has the Teknic Chicane 1 piece for $355 shipped. :dthumb:

I believe the 2 piece is the same price.

Seeing as how my gear collecction is very small (helmet, gloves and jacket) Ive still got a lot that I want. My new x11 should be here any day then next is alpinestars gloves, boots and leather jacket and once thats done, alpinestars pants to zip to the jacket. I should have the gloves and jacket this season and boots by fall at the latest.

I already have my dream gloves and boots... my helmet is sweet too, although if I were to get a new one, I like the arai hayes jolly roger (the one Kevin put up in his first post) but I don't need a new one. Also I think a ton of people will buy it..

On top of that, I want a vanson custom top of the line one-piece suit.

From what I've heard the high-end off-the-rack suits aren't always so great in terms of protection with respect to the price... someone posted a long article about it back on :twf: back in the day. I'll be going custom for sure.

If I buy a top-end suit, it'll be because I can afford it. I can only afford 5-600 dollar suits now. Might have to get one as a gift from the wifey one of these significant days. And I'll be doing a lot of searching to find the cheapest deal.

Yeah I'm in the same boat... I can't afford what I really want, so I'm going to wait until I can. When I can, my current two-piece will become my street gear.

I was just saying when you do have the cash to get something top-of-the-line (say 12 hundred bucks or so)... I would recommend (from reveiews people have given me) going custom instead of off the rack... check out vanson, syed, zee customs, etc... I've checked a lot of them out in person... VERY nice stuff.

I wish I could find that old article.... it tested a* and dainese off the rack top dollar suits, a couple mid range 700-900 suits, a couple lower end 500-600 suits, and a couple custom suits.

The customs and the mids and one of the lowers were the ones that held up the best.

Customs won't be any more money than the a* or dainese suits you're talking about. Plus if you go custom like vanson or whatever, you're helping an american leather business that makes their products here...

Check out:

I can vouch for the Syed:

My fully custom suit was under $1k
The fit is amazing - as it should be with a custom suit
The customer service was above and beyond - they knew me by name from ordering ONE suit. And it was at the beginning of race season so they had to have been busy!
Crash tested several times now - saved my hide, literally. Low side at about 40, just a few scuffs. Low side at 120, only a few scuffs. (I SHOULD have shattered my elbow on that one - I lowsided but landed on my elbow pretty damn hard). Armor great, stitching holding up wonderfully, suit is still in top condition, only cosmetic damage.

I am good on gear. My suit isn't messed up at all and fits perfect. I got klucky pucks for the track and wiz sparkies for screwing around. My SMX plus boots fit nice, have a little big wheel wear. Just got a X-11 that fits perfect. Got a pair of GP Tech gloves and the fit and feel awesome, Killboy let me borrow his pair and I fell in love with them, so got me a pair. Got the tech back protector as well.

A bluetooth chatterbox would be nice but not necessary. I need a trailer and a XT lap timer next.

You got that right. I pitted with some guys from Nashville that had one of those foldup trailers. They said it worked great just to and from the track. Plus it stores out of the way. Might be an idea for behind the car. :idk:

Yeah that is what I am looking at buying, just a single rail trailer that will store standing up and not take up any room. the fiddy is so small I could put a plywood deck on it and put it to one side of the big bike so I could bring both at once. I already have the attachment to tow for my car, just need the trailer.

Just grab a standard tiltable trailer for a few hundred bucks and do some work on it. After building the sides, I sunk eyehooks into the metal frame for tiedowns, added a wheelchock, and built my own ramps. All pressure treated wood for weather-durability. It does triple duty for bike hauling, construction stuff hauling, and dump runs.

If I wanted to haul two bikes I would just need another wheelchock and some tiedowns, to reposition stuff.

Yeah I walk up that one, and just use the clutch to idle the bike up the other one while I walk next to it. Works like a charm. The ramps work really well, and were cheap (especially compared to the aluminum ones).

For storage, I turn them on their sides and have a bolt that goes through the side boards of the trailer to store them there, one on each side. When you want to use them, just pull out the bolt. I used little door hook-and-eyes to hook the ramps to the edge of the trailer to ensure they don't slide back when I'm going up them.

Beat me to it. That sounds about right. I don't remember how much mine was, I've had it for quite a while, like 8 years... I rebuilt it with fresh wood as well as the chock and ramps and tiedown hooks last summer before heading up to Nova Scotia with the bike for vacation.
