If your homeowners insurance required a drug test, a copy of your criminal record if any, and your driving abstract before they would insure you, would you give it to them? Or would you find another company?

Would you agree with a law to make this mandatory? Why or why not?

That's retarded.

1) Laugh
2) Say "You assholes are completely deluded, and need to go fuck yourselves exceedingly hard"
3) Find another company to deal with

I'd find another company to deal with.

I would assume the only thing they would actually have to ask you for is a drug test- the rest they'd just get :idk:

I would find another company on principle. Insurance companies stockpile FAR too much information on customers as it is.

unless its for medical coverage, they dont need any sample from me.

if some company asked me for all that shit, I'd be like, well then you wont be the ones who replace my house when the meth lab in it goes boom from the tard on the corner flickin his cigarette in the door.

Driving record shows how risky of a person you are along with a lot of other things. More and more banks are looking at driving records when giving out home/car loans too.

If it got me a cheaper rate I would do it.

That's a shame, because that's exactly what they're counting on, in their quest to invade and erode our privacy.

:idk:

Ah, so how fast I drive has any bearing on my ability to pay my mortgage. Gotcha.

They factor everything together.

Kind of like them taking your credit score into account, as they already do in many insurance and employment policies.

I'd tell them i don't drive... that i'm in the military so criminal record is clean enough... and I take piss tests randomly also for the military so fuck off...

then find another company...

I think I would tell them to fuck off and switch.

Credit scores have a lot more bearing on how well someone manages their life than their traffic record does.

Yep. How I drive has nothing to do with how I keep my house or how I pay my bills. I can see how it MIGHT relate to a car loan because if you don't keep insurance on the car, the bank charges you for insurance, so I imagine they want to know what kind of risk they're taking. I have GREAT credit, but I drive like an asshole. No correlation for me.

:idk:

I have no privacy anyway. I have to go through very tough security clearances every 5 years and take drug tests randomly, which is about every 3 months right now. All to keep my job, getting cheap insurance would be nice.

I would never consider this and would vote against any measure or any elected official who put it into law.
