Man drops gun waiting in line, shoots woman

The Associated Press
7:32 AM EST, December 15, 2008

JACKSONVILLE - A Jacksonville woman waiting in line at a grocery store was shot when the man in front of her dropped a gun.

Seventy-year-old Flossie Mae Bell told police she was waiting to check out Friday afternoon when the man dropped a leather pouch and she felt a sudden pain in her leg. A store worker said he heard a loud pop.

Bell was treated at a local hospital.

Sixty-seven-year-old Woodrow Monlyn Jr. was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm. He told police he had never carried the .25-caliber pistol in public before and didn't know he needed a permit.

 Seriously????

I suppose that's one way to try and contribute to reducing Social Security spending.

Was the article really necessary? I think the thread title alone is more than enough to still be 100% true beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Probably thought that he was Bond, James Bond. The old Bond gun was a Baretta 418; .25 ACP.

Why, because you prefer 9mm and .40S&W to .25ACP?

My old barber carried a .25caliber 4 shot derringer. When it did fire it'd fire 4 at once. He also carried a magnum in his cash register. He never got robbed.

Just a guess.

But I'm thinking Woodrow Monlyn Jr is a black guy.

Shame on me for profliing.

I've never read any of Fleming's novels, but I understand they go into quite a bit of detail about what items Bond favors. (everything from weapons to toiletries)
