They stopped submitting statistics in November. There's definitely a lot less activity but no way visitors dropped to zero just from the exodus of all you guys.

You might be surprised. I've taken a few looks and made maybe a dozen posts there since the take-over, and it's a wasteland. Just the same 5 or 6 people (maybe as many as 12) posting over and over so from a graphical point of view, it looks remarkably like zero.

I agree. I ventured over there last week to see what was going on. I was honestly saddened to see only a few posts in GS.....it looks like a ghost town now.
Now even the bedroom forum is moving much and that's with Excessa and Zero trying to keep it alive.
:(
Oh well....VS ruined another great forum.

Most of the CF members that posted constantly have moved to here. We kept the board alive when things got slow. Now it honestly is pretty much a wasteland.

Well it could easily be argued that we ruined it by leaving. There would even be a great deal of truth to it, but those of us who have been through a VS take-over before didn't need to wait until things started to really tank over there.

I've never truly been involved in a VS takeover. CF was the first forum I have ever registered on. But, I've noticed other boards I've surfed being part of it and didn't like them (layout, ads, etc) and I've heard tales of woe over takeovers of other boards before CF's takeover. I have yet to hear one true positive thing about VS takeovers. I'd just rather stay away from them.
You have a point, but how can we ruin it by leaving when we would have never left if VS hadn't taken over? Noone wants to stay in a shithole. And that's basically what they do to boards...turn them into shitholes.

We left before the changes really kicked in; sort of pre-emptively. Think of it like being in a car that you know is going to crash, because it's got no brakes. It slows for a corner and you jump out, but it hasn't actually crashed yet.

I thought of it as a hostile takeover of the enemy. We knew they were coming to assilimate us, so we rebelled, gathered, and moved on.
Or, better yet, it's like knowing our home was going into forclosure because we couldn't afford it anymore and left because we didn't like the conditions we'd have to abide by if we stayed.

If it had been a home that was being foreclosed, then we could have armed up and fought. It was a rental unit

I would call that a good move... why put yourself thru the crash.

Oh, I wouldn't say that it would be smart to hang around and wait for the crash, but people who don't know that the car is fucked might think that you MADE it crash.

I see what you're saying there, but what percentage of CFs total membership actually moved over here? I know that the majority of the really active members showed up, but overall, I think we account for less than 10% of the total membership over there.
Still, VS can hate us and blame us for leaving all they want. I've been through a few of their takeovers now, and I'll happily jump ship the moment they take ownership of a forum. ;)

Frankly I would be surprised if we were more than 1% of registered users, though it seems that we accounted for 99% of the posts.
VS won't blame us. They know the score because they've caused it time and again. The ones who will blame us are the other posters who didn't move.

But then we just point at them and laugh while we tell them to eat a bag of dicks. Plain, Simple and amusing!

Wow...holy flatlined Batman.
It was getting slwo over there prior to the takeover (I remember that FatbuckRTO posted that PNCE was generating the most activity...which is kinda odd for such a big motorcycle forum) but now it's zip.
Reading Excessa's posts since the take over reminds me of those National Geographic episodes where they have the the Mommy Chimp carrying around her dead infant for days.

I tell you what - I sent out messages when I found out that fateful morning. I sent them out BECAUSE I've been through a few forum killings. In those killings people got fed up with things blinking - moving and spamalot on pages and those people just fell off the forums. Some REALLY quality individuals were then lost to the internet. You know those people... the ones that wouldn't go looking for where the crowd went, they would just stop posting.
It was an effort to make sure people knew where we went.
Even after my thread (that took a surprisingly long time to lock) took a horrible turn - I wouldn't go back. There was no reason to go back and poke sticks. I haven't gone back.

Yup - sure. I am all powerful and am making a mint off of all of my minions.
I will say, quite shocking stats though.

The mods/admins over there have been saying that they don't see any changes but the hypertext ad links (in posts) have started and they don't show up if you're a mod, or if you're a member and have turned the setting off. It looks like crap if you go over there without being logged in, or if you're a prospective member who is just having a look around. If CF had looked that way the first time that I surfed by, I'd have never joined.

Ditto! If I go over there now and don't log in, on every single screen I get a pop up box asking me to complete a survey. I have pop up blockers and they stop every other pop up anywhere else but that one... Even if I just click from one forum to another or from one page to another in a thread. Every click results in another survey box...
