so i saw this

http://www.sonyrewards.com/en/gateway/?offerlink=sr150nowps3

if there's no Sony store in your town, you'll have to order online

if there is a Sony store close to you

goto to the Sony store in your town, APPLY in their little station, get approved, print out the acct number (it'll have your credit limit as well)

goto counter, get box, pay for box

your first statement should be for $250 + taxes (on the $400 price)

pay your playstation credit card off. DONE.

PS3 for $250+taxes

What they're counting on here are the folks that get this card and buy the PS3 (and a few movies and games on the card) and then spend ten years trying to pay it off at the 35% interest they'll be stuck with.

i got only the 80gb

for the others

house-check
car-check
enough credit cards-check
low insurance rates-check

what else am i going to need a "high" credit score in the near future for, esp. if i pay it off and/or close it.

Do you really understand how credit works? Just opening this account will hurt you if you have a good score right now, whether it's paid off or not. Closing the account actually makes it worse.

Besides, your credit score these days determines a lot more than house buying. It has implications that are much wider, such as what kind of a job you can get and what kind of insurance rates you'll pay. You seem to already be somewhat aware of that, but strangely don't care. :idk:

well my credit isn't perfect, but it's high enough (even w/ this ding)to not to get me denied from a job.

and insurance takes alot of things into account along w/ CR, and alls good for me and mine.

don't forget times are hard and credit card co's are tightening their belts!!!!

In your situation there is no reason not to. Still too much hassle for $100 IMO.

I have done it before and saved about $400 on a pair of earrings for my GF.

I am home shopping this year and want nothing to upset the apple cart.

It's only a matter of time

Geez, am I the only old fart who thinks that even $250 is a lot to pay for just a game console? :idk: At $400 I expect a keyboard and advanced porn-downloading capabilities in addition to gaming...

Assuming that games have the same resolution and image quality as an HD broadcast, which they don't.

alot of games are 1080p nowadays

1080p means nothing if the original source isn't very detailed. Game manufacturers often force several pixels adjacent to each other to be the same color. A game will never be as detailed as a real-life broadcast of an NBA player showing every little sweat bead and pore on his face. Why should they, it just hogs memory and slows things down.

well wouldn;t that depend on how much detail they want to put into a game.

also isn't most HD TV compressed to a certain degree.

having gone from cable HD to Fiber optic HD i saw an immediate diff.
