My Treo that I have had for over 2 years not is acting up. It won't go to my bluetooth and I can't talk into the phone. The only way I can talk in it is with a wired hands free set. First does anyone know why its doing this and if there is a way to fix it other then throwing it at my wall? I think this happened once before but I don't know if it just started working again or we did something to fix it.
If it keeps up I will need a new phone. I want the Treo Pro but its not available here yet and I'm not paying full price for it.
So what phone would you buy out of this list if you had to and why? https://www.rogers.com/web/Rogers.portal?_nfpb=true&_windowLabel=Wireless_BuyFlow_Portlet_Definition&Wireless_BuyFlow_Portlet_Definition_actionOverride =%2Fportlets%2Fconsumer%2Fwireless%2FphoneBuyflow% 2FshowPage_ForPhone&Wireless_BuyFlow_Portlet_DefinitionshowPhoneByPric e=YES&Wireless_BuyFlow_Portlet_DefinitionsearchPhoneAgai n=YES&Wireless_BuyFlow_Portlet_DefinitionshowPhoneByFeat ure=YES&Wireless_BuyFlow_Portlet_DefinitionshowPhoneByBran dName=YES&_pageLabel=WRLS_BuyFlow
Things I would like to have are full keyboard, wi fi, gps and bluetooth. Right now I have the Treo 650.

The pearl doesn't have a full keyboard. I don't know if I want to go to a Blackberry but I will see. But I don't know if the Pearl is for me. I text a lot and I'm used to the full keyboard since going from my Nokia to the Treo.

It's a QWERTY keyboard with shared keys - it's the only blackberry that does it. And, the reason I like it - it's the size of a normal phone. I say, try it
FWIW - I got away from the evil empire (AT&T) after they raped me for blackberry fees. And, researched all the others for the same. Tmobile has been freaking fantastic. :dthumb:

I think my brother has the Pearl. He likes some things about it. He has had two Treos, one or two HTCs, a Blackberry or two. I think that is it. He hasn't found one phone that he loves yet. I think he said he like the Treo the most by a little bit.
My sister has s Iphone which seems ok but I'm not an Apple fan.
BTW I was a die hard Nokia fan. This treo was my first phone that wasn't a Nokia. My first Nokia was a 100 I think. So its tough for me to switch. I have been happy with Nokia and Palm

First, see if there's a hard reset function that you can do, or possibly a firmware reinstall or update.
Second, of those phones, zoomie is right, blackberry all the way, though of the phones listed on Rogers site, I'd go with the new 8900 Curve. Full qwerty keyboard, wifi, and bluetooth. The suretype on the Pearl is nice about 90% of the time, but it can be frustrating as hell. Nothing beats a nice full keyboard. I currently have a Pearl, a Curve, and now a Storm, so I'm a little Blackberry biased, but they're excellent phones and kick all kinds of ass.

If 3G is not a requirement, check out the 8900 when it hits the AT&T catalog. It's got a screen that's on par with the Bold, if not better, the full qwerty keyboard, the updated OS and a size that's a little thinner than the current 8300.

Well, I'm not doing jack shit on the internet with my Razr, but if I get a Crackberry, I'll have a data plan and would like to take advantage of it. We'll see, though. I'm probably still a month or more away from dropping cash on anything.

Unless you are going to use the internet or at least unlimited texting, there's really no reason to get a PDA or similar phone.
Just sayin'....
Before I got unlimited texting/internet, I wasn't sure if I'd fully use it. But now, I use it all the time.
I rarely even talk on my phone anymore & when I do, it's usually mobile to mobile and they're free, so I have the mimimum minutes plan so I could qualify for the unlimited text/internet.

I believe they break it down to unlimited data + x amount of text, broken down something like 250, 500, 1000, and unlimited, or some breakdown like that. The way things are priced, the difference between the top capped amount and unlimited is something like 5 bucks.
If you do decide to go Bold, you're looking at a BIS plan + text. Works out to about the same cash, but the data plan is Blackberry specific.

Fuck AT&T and their nickle and dime bullshit that pushed my phone bill to almost $300. FUCK them.
Tmobile = $20 for Blackberry RIM service that includes unlimited text, internet, email, mms and picture messaging.
I've got three blackberrys running on my plan - one of them is the 8120 Pearl which is WiFi capable. That means, all the calls made on a WiFi network are FREE. With those three blackberrys, and another cell on my plan - it's under $200 after all the taxes and plan stuff. We couldn't do that with only the two blackberrys on ATT.

As a person that is too lazy to like voicemail.... I can quickly send a message and get an answer without the bullshit of talking. Besides, I have no pause button and will talk forever. Sometimes not talking is quicker.

If you have something important to say to someone and you know they are somewhere that they will not answer the phone, you can text. The text will come up on the screen or can be viewed with a a button press or two. A voice message requires them to call in and listen to the message. Text is quick and easy.

Just curious what is the appeal in texting? I have never in my life sent or received a text. Oh I take that back, I got 2 spam texts and told Verizon if I ever got another I was dumping their ass. No texts since.
There's several reasons for me. Most of the people who text me text me when they're working or I'm working and we're bored. It helps to keep me awake and entertained at night when I'm bored at work and the same for them even though they're on another shift. Since I sleep during the day and at odd hours, it's the best way to find out if I'm asleep or awake. I always answer my texts back or will call.
My kids also use texts as a way to keep in touch with me when they're at their dad's. Like Zoomie's ex, mine doesn't let them talk to me, but they can reach me via yahoo messenger since I also have that service for my phone. They use it to tell me shit while I'm at work when they're with me since I can't receive calls at work on it. It's usually bullshit stuff, but it's their alternate way of reaching me.
And like Zoomie said, it's another way of leaving a message without having to do voice mail.

Yes, the Blackberry Storm. I have it, and it's a great phone, though it needs another update or two to the firmware to sort out the rest of the bugs. In the states it's offered only through Verizon, and Vodaphone through Europe. I believe Bell and Telus are the authorized Storm dealers for Canada.
It's a really cool phone with an interesting click screen that takes a bit to get used to, but like I said, it needs another firmware update. There are still some goofy things that happen every now and then that are supposedly being addressed on the next firmware release.
