Right...try telling them they aren't handicapped.
I would check the law, in some states just having it painted on the pavement isn't legal. They must have a sign as well.

its that way in texas. you have to have the metal sign in addition to the painted part on the ground.
Of course, the owners of the place can still tow you for traspassing.

Just for shits and giggles, I'll play devil's advocate. Many people who appear to be outwardly obese are so because of another underlying condition, that makes it difficult to shed weight. Arthritis, diabetes, and many other conditions tend to make it difficult to stay physically active (though with diabetes it's frequently a chicken and the egg sort of thing).
People who can't get around well on their own fall into the trap of using prepared foods, which are rich in fat. A few extra callories add up and weight isn't shed because of inactivity.
Now if you want to get into the handicapped placcard thing, we have a bit of an issue with them here, in Ontario, Canada. They are routinely granted to people over 100, because of the assumption that they can no longer get around on their own. A couple of years back it was found, via census, that there were a couple of hundred more plates issued to people over 100 than there are people of that age in the whole Province.
Figure that one out.

Well, we keep petitioning them to cut out Oklahoma and some of the Midwest, but they keep turning us down. Apparently the procedure is not covered by our insurance.

Heh, that's the FIRST thing I noticed when I landed in O'Hare coming back from China. The first two 350+lb guys I saw waddling down the terminal caught me off-guard.
No wonder the rest of the world thinks we're disgusting. After only a week away, I was surprised by what I saw.

My head teacher at my school in England actually pulled me aside to have a conversation with me about America. He just couldn't believe how "rotund" they were in general. He was so shocked. And after having traveled quite a bit now I'm shocked by it too....and slightly disgusted!

A few years back, a ladyfriend of mine was in a serious crash while racing and injured her leg. When I say 'injured', I mean that it went through the rear wheel and was about 80% amputated by the chain.
She got a handicapped placcard and I did a lot of driving for her. I noticed two things. The first was that around Christmas people are complete assholes. They'll wedge themselves in between vehicles in handicapped spaces, to the point where the person who needs the spot can't get back into their vehicle. That's if they don't take the space, outright, because it's 'convenient.' Yes, it's convenient. It's also not for their use.
The second thing that I found was that certain self-righteous people are more than willing to tell you what an asshole you are to take a handicapped parking space, when you are completely healthy. Apparently these people are visually handicapped also, for they are unable to see that a passenger can be completely incapable of walking OR driving herself around.
And lastly, likely something north of 60% of the vehicles that are parked in handicapped spots are, in fact, driven there by the person who would normally act as a driver for such a person, but they are present WITHOUT the person who would need to be driven. In other words, they are fraudulently using the handicapped parking permit. When my friend wasn't in the truck with me, that thing came off the dashboard.

That's what I was afraid of. The thing that hurts it the very most is shoveling. Not only is there lifting a fair bit of weight from the wrong end of a lever, but also swinging and throwing it. Hurts like all hell. And my parents used to have a landscaping company that I worked for all of the time.

Heres one that kills me. My wife is very fit she runs 5 miles at a time 3 times a week before work and on the other days she will lift weights. But take her ass to the mall and she drives around for 15 min to find a close parking space.
I'm some what round not huge by any means but I pull into a lot and park the walk is good for me.
That being said I have complained about draging my 400 pounds of tools from the 2 mile away parking lot cause I'm not driving the car make made at that plant. Freaking union shops kill me. Do you really need all those tools? Yeah do you think you could help me get them through the turnstyle, jackass! Sorry rant over.

My ex had herniated/ruptured discs in his cervical spine (related to an injury from Iraq), so I'm familiar with the condition. He had (don't know if it's still as bad now.. we divorced in June) pretty bad nerve problems, especially in his left hand. He would randomly drop things because his hand would just not cooperate. Until they figured out it was his spine that was the problem, they were thinking he had carpal or radial tunnel.
Seriously, though, don't know what kind of medical insurance you have, but physical therapy *can* help it get better if you stick with it long enough.. it's not a permanent fix, and the pain won't go away altogether, but it can improve your quality of life. The next step would be surgery... if you can avoid having to go that route, that's probably best. :panic:
Any way you can avoid shoveling snow? (As in, get someone else to do it.. get a machine to do it.. something?) I realize NOT doing it isn't an option where you live.. but worsening your condition can conceivably have wide-reaching consequences.

Yeah, I'm only 19, so normally live in the dorms. Right now I'm at my parents house so its still not a big problem. I did physical therapy for a few months before I went on a week long canoe trip on the boundary waters between MN and canada. Helped definitely, but they said it would never be permanent. Its not terrible unless I sleep at a weird angle or have to shovel, or random other acts that I find.

On of the main reason the US has some of the fastest people in the world is our foods have tons of sugar in them compaired to the same foods in other countrys.
As an example I was in Germany a few years ago our Catsup is loaded with sugar(corn syrup really) theirs was Tomato paste in a packet. But really every thing I ate over there was far sweeter here. We put sugar in every thing for no reason other than to get us hooked on it and then keep loading us full of it.

Those sumo's are wearing their mawashi, that kid's still wearing his diaper. And those sumo's train there bodies for a reason, with as powerful as they are I wouldn't really define them as obese. Sure, they've got some extra fat, but they're still extremely strong.
