People that don't walk up escalators piss me off.

Hey asshole...what you are doing is just standing there. Blocking my path. Should have taken the stairs but no...I was stupid enough to hop on the escalator and end up staring at your obese ass for 30 seconds.
Merry Christmas.

Yeah. I don't walk up escalators because my knees are bad. If I wanted to climb stairs I would have taken the stairs.

Do you mind...I'm having a moment.
If I wanted ti hear from the "Oh my bad knees!! Oh My back problems!!" brigade I would have started a thread about friends who ask for help moving stuff and then sit on their ass while you do all the heavy lifting.

Happy Holidays

You should get back at them by pacing or jumping up and down when you catch them in an elevator.

not just that but the sliding walkways in airports... those are not there for your fat ass to stand there and be lazy, they're there so people who are in a hurry can get from point a to point b faster.

I'm just saying that if you were to see me on the escalator not climbing the stairs you would just assume I'm lazy since I'm a pretty big and reasonably healthy looking guy. Sometimes people have reasons for the way they act. Plus, I always stand to the right so people who really feel the need to climb the escalator can pass me. But if you want to get exercise out of it then don't cheat and ride the escalator. Same with moving walkways. I stop on them because it's more comfortable for me than walking a half a fuckin mile to get to my flight. If I can stand still and get to my destination then I'm going to do it, at least until you knees are good enough for me to deal with it.

You actually can walk beside one faster if the person on the moving sidewalk is standing still.

That shit pisses me off to.

What pisses me off is some impatient dickhead staring at my ass while I take 30 seconds out of my day to move without having to expend effort riding the escalator while I'm drug all over hell and gone with my wife looking for some crap I don't want and don't need. If you wanted to walk every where you went you should have taken the stairs. Call me obese to my face, and I'll beat your skinny ass.

I just wish the non moving humans would stand to the side and allow those of us who actually walk up and down the escalators room to go about our way. You don't see me blocking a fat person's way to free food, do you?

Seriously, if you're just going to stand there, move over as much as you can to allow us to pass.

Thanks! :D

That's way not the same thing. Holding people up on the escalator won't get you killed. Getting between a fatty and the buffet totally can.

Common courtesy. Walk on the left, stand on the right. A brusque "Excuse me" is sufficient to brush past.

Is it enough to justify pushing their asses down the escalator when they don't move?

There's many reasons why escalators were invented. Two of them are so people can stand still to get where they're going and so others can walk up them to get to places even faster. Sometimes I walk up them and sometimes I don't. It is aggravating when you're walking up it and people don't have the courtesy to move aside.

But there's far more shit to be pissed about. Right now, being from New York, you should be worried about how the Yankees are gonna choke again even know they spent an ill amount of money getting new players.

Who knows, maybe the Yankees will pull a Tampa Bay this year and not suck. Nevermind, that's happened once in my lifetime already.

I went to get on the escalator with my son and daughter yesterday or the day before. My daughter is two and my son is four. My daughter stepped on with me (they haven't been on one before) and my son noticed that they were moving and said the hell with that and stopped. LOL I turned and he wouldn't get on so I had to pick up my daughter and sprint back up to get him. Not a bad workout.

I got terrorized at an early age by stories of people getting clothes or shoelaces stuck in the part where the stairs go under.

I walk up *most* escalators. But in London some of the underground escalators are several stories tall/long. It's bloody tiring. :sorry:
