Video help?

I have guitar lessons that are in WMV format and when they are played most of the time they are out of sync. It makes it hard to learn guitar when what your watching is what he was talking about 10 seconds ago. Is there a way to improve the video? Right now I use windows media player, is there another program that might do it better?

I'm playing them on my laptop which is a HP DV2410.
