Well if ya didnt know Coldplay is being sued by Guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani for copying parts of his song.

The resemblance is striking! Satriani wrote his song in 2005.
The chord structures are close and the Coldplay chorus is Satriani's verse.

I think he has a decent case. Artists copy eachother all the time, but they do obtain rights and permissions, when they dont thats when they have problems.

yeah its a ripoff, probably mistakenly, but still a ripoff. They should just settle it and give him some royalties for the song.

yea, whether on purpose or not,
Ive written songs that sound familiarly close to artist, cuz you get the tune in your head, and it can come out in your playing (conscious or not)
sometimes it can very similar to what was already written.

Just give credit where its do, and pay royalties. :dthumb:

Definitely a good line, but just reading it, I wouldn't imagine it against the melody used in the song or the high-pitched vocals.

Heard about this on Bob and Tom. I don't know why Coldplay is denying it as much as they are.
