So really there is only one step, and it's:

1. Get some cheap, mechanically-inclined, child labor.

Excellent.

Are you suggesting I start a sweatshop with young child mechanics? Don't you know that's illegal?

I like it.

That stuff is $9 a quart. How can you do it under $30 since the filter cost $10 alone? You do change the filter every time right?

$30 sounds a little cheap but not unheard of.

I use mobil 1 full synth... best price is 8-9 a quart.... and K&N filter, roughly 12-13 bucks.

Thats 36-40 bucks, and I use the pricey shit. I only need 3 quarts though...

See my bike take 4 full quarts or about 3.7 liters.

I may have missed it in this thread, but I think it's missing a few things...

1. Beer... you'll be drinking it.
2. Cursing... you'll inevitably be doing it.
3. Dropping the drain plug into the pan filled with hot oil... you'll be going back through this list in reverse.

Get a K&P or Scotts re-useable oil filter... only takes like 8-10 oil changes to make your money back.

I'm not sold on Scotts. I dont think they filter enough.

The Scotts much like anything else is bought from somebody else.

The steering dampner... is bought from Ohlins... the filter is bought from K&P. I got a chromey for my $50K chopper... so I would say good enough.

awww, this thread is so cute!! reminds me of father's day a few years ago when i bought my hubby the 'topless tune-up' video for his fat boy. some naked chick shows you how to perform routine maintenance on your bike. a cheesy, must-have video in your collection. :)

Don't ever refer to a testosterone laden thread like this as 'cute' and PM me the pictures of this topless chick immediately.
