Broke My Face

So I doubt anyone really noticed since I was only gone a few days, but as the title states, I managed to break my face on sunday. I was sled riding and swerved to miss a tree, when I did this I managed to get thrown off the sled by a small log only to lad face first on another one. So far the results are a bad lump on my leg (from when I got thrown off), scratched up nose, 4 stitches right below my eyebrow, and a "blowout fracture" of my left eye socket. All in all it sucks, but Im alright. May be able to avoid surgery if it continues to heal properly. We'll see.

Oh and there will be pictures shortly once I get them off my phone.

Yeah, they were actually figurin that was gonna happen and transferred me to another hospital for surgery but everything is working properly so far, so I may not need it. Pictures of the damage are coming.

seriously though it could have been 1000 times worse. the surgury to re-fixate your eye in the right place would have taken a LONG time to heal and work properly.

I was never pretty to begin with, now I just have an excuse for a while.

Thats kind of what I had figured with the surgery. They said I would have needed one to fix the bone and untrap the muscle if it had gotten caught by the bone since it could kill the eye if not fixed. As of now, its about as good as it can be.

Yeah, Im feeling fine. Little to no pain or discomfort, I just have to wait and see how it heals. Thanks for asking though, thats sweet of you.

Update: So I just got back from the doctor and found out some good news and some indifferent news. As of now I my eye is doing very well. Its fine in every test that they did. The only real concern is that the eye can still sink because of breaking the bone that holds it up, so surgery is not completely out of the question just yet. I can go into more details but I dont feel like boring/grossing out anyone right now.

From what they said my congested sinus may be whats keeping it up so it can happen once that goes back to normal. The doctors never really said if it would hurt but my assumption is more discomfort than anything. And he made it sound like its most likely after the sinus is no longer congested, but I think its still slightly possible until its fully healed enough where there is no extra room for the eye to move into.

UPDATE: Just figured Id let everyone know whats been going on with this whole thing. I finally went and had my stitches out yesterday and had to go to a specialist earlier today. According to what he told me, he sees nothing that worries him and nothing that requires surgery to fix. He also said that if the eye hasnt sunk at all yet that it most likely will not sink at all meaning that I shouldnt have any problems. Ive basically just got to take it easy for another week or two to let it heal some more and I should be back to normal. And with any luck Ill be able to use this as an excuse as to why Im not good lookin (even though I wasnt before the accident) :idk:
