Funny, they've been going strong for years, but as soon as they put out an Obama shirt they're going down. Conspiracy, anyone?

The Obama shirt was kinda funny, but they have a few that are straight up racist. :skep:

Racist/Anti religion/violent/drug related wrong as they may be they are still funny. At least most of them.
Only way to get a reaction out of people is to attack something you couldn't do so easily in person.

Either that, or they finally insulted their core buyers.

Funny. This very thread indicates exactly WHY the site is shutting down:

Actually, only one single post in this thread is indicative.
I admire his reasons and his unwillingness to "sell out."

Well, their site is blocked by the firewalls here at the base (thanks, Comm) so they are losing business from us, and that site was pretty popular before we lost access to it. I've seen several of those T-shirts in the gym and BX, most notably the single moms one.

Which makes my point: Not everyone "gets it", and invariably, there will be static.
Ever read the comments on YouTube? Eventually, that level of human stupid gets old.
I used to have a site that listed our phone number at the top of the page in one inch letters, with the words "call to order" underneath. An Email form followed.
At least 5 people per week would scroll past the huge phone number, and the words "call to order", in order to take the time to submit an Email asking how to order, or what our phone number was.
It made me truly appreciate [despise] the "safety" mechanisms that have allowed a woeful many of Darwin's escapees to flourish, thrive, and reproduce.
It lowered my expectations of human kind, and made me feel lonely.
When the overwhelming stupidity of the general public finally occurs to you, it's a rather life-altering realization.
Sounds to me like this cat hit that wall.
Been there. It kinda sours you on ever doing business with the general public again...

I understand and generally concur.
They way I see it, however, is that in the 19? (didn't count) replies, only one was what was referenced. Most of the others were in support of what had been done by TSH.
That tells me that the majority (at least here) are still breathing on their own. It also tells me that this thread (the greater portion of it) is not what he was referencing but were the supporters of his cause.
On your site, how many phone orders did you receive that were smart enough to see the large letters? I'd guess it was more than the e-mails you got.
Large numbers of humans are stupid, I get it.
However, getting lumped in with the bottom 10% because you happen to be in the same species at the same time also gets old.

I guess it's not really the dumb 10%. It's really how much fucking overall static that small number of assholes can generate...the negative din really can overwhelm the positive.

Your business is different I'm sure. But this guy seems to be complaining about the same thing that made his business. He isn't the first company making t shirts. He pushed buttons. Thats what some people loved and others hated.
I hate hearing about business failing. But this one didn't fail. He just is tired of what made him the money. So I don't feel bad at all.
