I thought getting a cortisone shot is supposed to make the pain go away? I must be that broken to where nothing works on me:idk:

Cortisone doesn't take away pain.. it only reduces inflammation.. which can alleviate some pain, but no, it's not designed as a pain killer.

they gave me cortisone shots into my knee last year. it was great for the inflammation. The pain got beat down with vicodin es and percs

I got the same shot (a 15' long needle with a dull 1/4" dia. end) in my elbow when I hyperextended it. The docs there advertised it as a pain reducer too, but I didn't notice any difference. Well, except for the big hole in my elbow. :lol:

I took one in the knee a while ago and it actually made my knee hurt worse for about a week. After that though it felt great.
I have a torn meniscus that at some point will need to be fixed but until it bothers me more the doc said we would just shoot it up to 3 times before requiring the operation.

i have the same injury. those shots helped me
