killzone 2

the free demo for killzone 2 is supposed to drop today on the euro playstation store. Anyone looking to play the demo without paying for a pre order should create a euro account. My impressions on gameplay after work.

demo is up and downloading smoothly, weighs in around 1200 megs if you have space issues

controls are a little wierd and the buddy ai isint quite the greatest but thats the worst i can say about it. the attention to detail is amazing. weapons move like you'd expect and seem like they have believable weight to them. enemy ai is very good. demo is short but the helghast take cover and lob grenades. not sure if they are capable of larger tactical movements but from the title video it looks like it. graphics and sound really knock it out of the park. things look gritty, theres smoke everywhere and the music is dead on. game fucking rocks. im dying for the full version to come out. till then i have R2 to work on

Please tell me it's far superior to Resistance 2. That game annoyed the piss outta me with how lame it was. I like it more now than before, but only for as long as I work on getting trophies.

a few more things, the rifle you start off with chirps when it starts running out and this is the first FPS i can think of that lets you "cook off" grenades. even has a little led bar graph on the grenade to let you know how long you have

a lot better i think, but R2 started badly and got much better later on. have you done any of the co-op scenarios? im prettymuch addicted to those

COD4 and World at War let you cook grenades. There are little hash marks that pulse when you're holding a live grenade.
