It seems that Alberta, Canada's Blackfoot Suzuki team will be campaigning Miguel Duhamel at Daytona, in the Daytona Sportbike class. He's listed in the official lists, on the AMA Superbike website :rockout:

On a Suzuki no less. Gonna be an uphill battle.

Blackfoot is one of the largest dealers and racing outfits in Canada, so he'll have the support. Given that your rules are moving more and more to be like ours and that a Canadian (Colin Fraser) is now King Kahuna, it might not be as uphill as you think.

I just don't think an old guy that should be retired can push a Suzuki in front of an FX Honda or Yamaha Factory R6 is all. Doesn't have anything to do with the Canadian sponsored entry, or even the fact that Miggy is old enough for retirement and Sr discounts, just a Canadian rules 600 vs DMG rules Daytonay Sportbike rules R6 and 600RR.

Except, like I said, the Canadian team is likely more up to speed on the 'new DMG' rules than most. It isn't going to be a Canadian series spec. bike. Every time that someone counts Miguel out, he seems to pull some reserves form somewhere.

It will be interesting to see things play oput.

Agreed. Never count a guy out that won on a broken leg!

I figure that if things don't go to his liking, then he'll start to play in the retirement capital of AMA Superbike: Parts Canada Superbike

hah... Miguel musta mellowed out in his aging years... I think you're the FIRST person I've ever heard call him anything remotely close to "nice".
