So I live in Oklahoma, smack dab in the middle of tornado alley. We get odd weather at all times of the year. I've seen tornadoes in February, and I've seen tornadoes in November. It's really a year 'round season here.

A few minutes ago, the tornado sirens went off. What's the first thing I do? No, I didn't check the radar online. I didn't turn on the radio.

I walked outside to look! Along with about 15 or 20 other people nearby.

It just cracked me up when I thought about it and realized what I did. :D

Bad ass!! I used to do the same thing! Storm coming? Forget the cellar, I wanna see!! I was born and lived some in OK, did some storm chasing as a teen(with actual storm chasers), and loved it.

If its any consolation, I have to be drug kicking and screaming from home when the hurricanes are coming, i wanna stay and watch!

I am pretty sure I am somewhere in between Archren's desire to hide and Rae and G-rex's desire to watch.

I would be that guy that would watch up until it was pretty obvious I was in DEEEP shit, and then I would run for my freaking life as if the tornado had just jumped out of nowhere.

Poor thing, you arent planning on moving to OK are you? If so, DONT. I cant count the number of times we got to "play" in the cellar or I got shoved under a mattress in the bathroom. Storms dont phase me. I find them strangely exhilirating. Im also the idiot thats ridden through thunderstorms and horrific high winds, partially because I was going somewhere, and mostly just because I could.

Nope, his ass is moving to Austin. :D We've actually got roads that, I dunno, TURN here.

We still get the occasional tornado watch, but one actually hitting the Austin metropolitan area is pretty rare. We did have some funnel clouds sighted near my old apt complex last year, but nothing ever came of 'em.

Ah, you need to visit NE OK, I promise you, it makes up for the rest of the state!! I grew up there, in the mountains, and they have tiny lil towns in valleys, with the "potato" hills, state parks and beautiful scenery...I miss it! Winding Stair Mountains FTW.

Youve got it confused with ARKANSAS.

Ah, what the hell do I care. I am a transplanted Texan!

I do love the Tulsa area of OK though. Particularly due to the Hallett Roadracing Circuit. The weather there was always unpredictable though. I don't know how it can be so windy and stormy one moment and clear the next??:idk:

And I have washed plenty of that red dirt from my fairings before!

Grew up in KS, and I miss the weather. I'd definitely be outside watching when the sirens went off. Shoot, if you don't get out there quick, you miss the spooky green sky and hail. :D

I'm one of the crazy bastards running to the window or outside too. I only saw the sky go green twice though, and that was in Jersey. That's probably why I ran out now that I think about it, I mean how often does Jersey get tornados? I had to see!

I live in SW Missouri. Only about an hour and a half from arkansas or oklahoma. Ozark Mtns ftw. In rolla, they were having 70 mph winds with no tornados or anything around 10. Springfield only had 40 or so.

Man, isn't that what we did when we were getting tires mounted a few yrs ago up there? The greenish color of the clouds was pretty crazy!
