Ah ah ah,oh no you don't. Your not downing my buzz buddy! BTW there is a slight mechanical zoom like my Sony p&s so nyahh nyahh nyahh! It's basically a camera that happens to have a phone attached to it! Besides who wants to lug a SLR everywhere they go? Hey just because you only have a pathetic 3.2 megs don't hate baby! hahaha!
Btw I have an inside girl at Circuit City and they have like 30 Sony DSLRs the (letters)350 model which is 14.1 megs I believe. She thinks she can get me one for under $300 by this weekend if anyone is interested let me know.

Its not really that bad. And the quality of pictures is worth the extra Bulk of the Camera.

Oh and I don't have all the specs but if it's like the Pixon it has face detection,touch focal point (touch the screen where you want to focus on if it's not the center),smile detection,xenon flash,etc.

If I am going anywhere worth taking pictures, someone I know has a SLR handy. You don't have to take all your lens with you. If I want a pic and I don't have one handy, I will take a crappy one. I am not going to buy a phone solely for the camera. I will buy a camera devoted to pics if I want quality images.

yeah but if you want decent pics, you can get a decent small P&S camera and a phone that will do the rest for the same price.
It's like if you really want an iphone and don't want AT&T, you can get a verizon phone with good service and an ipod touch to have both.
Speaking of which I know a bunch of phones can be used as modems, I wonder if anyone has tried to use the phone and come up with some way to connect the ipod touch to the net through the phone.

I'm with you on the picture in the club. The last two times I was out there was 3-5 cameras going in the group that I knew.
But I do take my P&S because it takes better picture then my Treo did. I just toss my camera in my back pocket. for that reason I would like to have a thinner camera.
If my next phone takes good enough pictures I might leave my P&S at home. Or maybe not. I let others take pictures every now and then. I would rather not hand my phone around to everyone.

Totally off topic (nothing new, right? :lol:) but sometimes a (comparitavely to an SLR) shitty point and shoot is just right for the job. Thus why I'm investing in one before I deploy... mainly because I'd rather trash a $100 P&S than my $500 DSLR. :dthumb:
Not to mention a P&S I can stick in my pocket and take with me everywhere for those spur of the moment inspired shots (of which most of my best pics from my last deployment came from), as upposed to lugging around my XT.
If my next phone takes good enough pictures I might leave my P&S at home. Or maybe not. I let others take pictures every now and then. I would rather not hand my phone around to everyone.

I much rather get a $100 P&S and have that trashed than trash my camera phone which I am stuck with for another year and a half til my contract runs up or be forced to get a crappy phone to make due instead of spending the outrageous costs for buying an unlocked decent phone.

Yeah I can lose a camera and do with out for a bit but if I lose my phone it screws things up like you just said. Cost of the new phone, time without phone and so on. But i really like having a camera on my phone as well. I like having a camera at my side at all times. I have my phone and I like to take my P&S with me in my truck as well.

That's where I'm at! Sure I admit that my 8 meg phone won't be as good as your DSLR but I'm not trying to take pics to hang in a museum for god's sake! If I'm riding and I see something interesting,bang 8 meg decent pic! Plus,it has a huge internal memory and room for a 8 or 16 gig card! Shit I have a 4 gig in my phone now and I'm not even half full. Someday soon,the phone will put all other portable devices out of business imho.

Ummm... last word is under$200 w/contract and who exactly is too stupid to spend the $5 a month for the insurance? If I drop my phone I'm covered,if I drop my $300 p&s I'm fucked,oh wait I bought the warranty... well anyway,I agree that if I'm going somewhere to take pictures,I'll bring my SLR or P&S but for "casual" shots....8 meg camera phone FTMFW!!!

Trip won't know because HE wouldn't lower himself to take pics using a phone! I've seen some pics and they were ok,better than the 1st gen i-Phone by far. Heck,3.2 megs is close to 35mm film quality. It's down to electronics and lenses from there. I'll get a buddy to loan me his Storm and I'll take pics and do a "Pepsi Challenge" type thread in a couple weeks when I get the new phone.

Depends on which OS, the verizon OS right now is terrible, some of the beta OS versions are much better.
The five pics on the homepage are all from the storm.

I just saw a commercial for the new blackberry flip. T-mobile only though.
If verizon gets it I may take a look. Granted, I doubt I'll get a phone before we leave... wouldn't make much sense being gone for a year and all.

the 3 meg or so one in my Storm is good for impromptu photos... my Nikon D300 (DSLR) for when I'm out taking pictures... and my Nikon L1 (PS) 6meg for when I'm riding and stumble upon a cool shot.
how much of a optical zoom does that have? that's the only thing I don't like about the storms camera... Digital Zooms FTMFL

Taken it to the Bar...Who the fuck takes pictures in a grocery store?? And Its over my friends houses PLENTY.
I'm not afraid to take it places b/c its bigger and not compact...I took it everywhere when i was on vacation...The Beach the Go kart place the Bar cruiseship etc etc.
Actually if you notice ALOT more ppl have SLRS now b./c there more affordable

If you ever watched a woman come out of a freezer with nipples you could hang keys on or a woman in a mini skirt with no underwear on bend over to get something on the bottom shelf you wouldn't ask why they take cameras in a grocery store. :LOL: I have NEVER done that but I'm just saying. :LOL:
