Something like that.

Honestly, I have so many book series that I've read, I can't pinpoint just one book. Currently my favorite series is the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, but I'm also a big fan of Orson Scott Card and the late Sir Arthur C. Clarke.

"Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. I don't see a point in reading for entertainment. If I am reading, it is to learn and better myself. If I want entertainment, I watch a movie.

Sorry to hear that. I would say he is a smart man, but you aren't together anymore so he's obviously fucking retarded.

"The Outsiders" by S.E Hinton

Mine too. Every since I first read it sometime in junior high. To this day it's still my favorite book. And the movie (for once) followed the book scene by scene, and damn near word for word. :dthumb:

Clan of the Cave Bear series by Jane Auel Best series ever. My mom started me on these books when I was about 14 and I always swore that if I ever had a daughter, I would name her Ayla!

I never had a daughter :(

Well, he's intelligent, but a major douchebag. To each their own.. books aren't for everyone (although the way you said you'd rather watch TV earlier reminds me of Danny De Vito's role in Matilda.. "you can't get anything from a book that you can't get from TV faster" ). Tracy isn't a huge reader either... but it's all good. He has his football... I have my books. :D

Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind

Ohhh I have heard very good things about that series. I need to pick it up.

They have actually started a tv series based on the books. The series isn't nearly as good as the books because I think they have strayed too far from the original plot line, but it's not bad.

I couldn't pick a favorite book, I can't even pick a favorite author. Some of the ones I like are:

Jim Butcher and the Dresden Files (connecting with Archren)

Richard K. Morgan. Altered Carbon and its sequels are fantastic

Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child

James Rollins

And finally, Christopher Moore. Read his book Lamb, it's fucking hilarious.

If I had to pick one book to read for the rest of my life, it would be Small Gods or any of the Death-centric Discworld books by Terry Pratchett.

The Techno-Pagan Octopus Messiah - Ian Muir Winn

Conversations With God - Neale Donald Walsch

Tuesdays with Morrie - Mitch Albom

Shampoo Planet - Douglas Coupland

The Harry Potter Series (Yes I said it!!)

I too read S.E. Hinton back in the day. Absolutely loved her stuff then. I've seen some titles recently that I don't recognize and have thought about picking them up. :idk:

Damn, forgot another one. Footfall - Niven & Pournelle. It would probably make a good movie, if people could get past the fact that the Earth is being invaded by baby elephants with ray guns.

Early Steven King
Necroscope series by Brian Lumley
Harry Potter series J.K. Rowling
The Destroyer series by Warren Murphy, Richard Sapir and about a million ghost writers

"Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. I don't see a point in reading for entertainment. If I am reading, it is to learn and better myself. If I want entertainment, I watch a movie.i feel the same way. i don't think i've read a fiction based book in 15 years. every book i read in college was based on a war or time period. and the last book i read was The Loan Survivor by Marcus Luttrell...For all you military folk i highly recommend it:dthumb:
