Dont flame me, I rode his bike in industrial areas/ parking lots WAAAY away from anything remotely considered traffic..)

AND...Ive got a couple friends that have been scouting bikes for me, and they've found a couple used SV's in the area im going to be looking at. :dthumb:

Ones an 05, the other is an 03, they havent told me the details yet...

WooT! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I've had both...well...I HAVE an '03....the ex hubby had an '05. There's some minute differences between the two years, but both years are most excellent bikes. :dthumb:

Good luck!

No flaming from me. :-) You're only qualified for parking lot practice after the MSF anyway. Did the same thing as you, although I didn't wait as long to get the endorsement put on my license. (In GA, if you pass the course, you don't have to take the DMV test. You get a card from MSF and take it to DMV where they add the endorsement to your license.)

Just remember to BREATHE! Elbows bent and smile, so you'll relax. You'll do fine!!

Same in Ohio. I got my endorsement put on and then started riding around my neighborhoods before I hit busy streets.

Good luck man.

That's the thing. They know they can all be dicks, cause it's not like you can go somewhere else to get the service.

Heh...our DMV doesn't even give a real driving test for a motorcycle endorsement. Just show up with a legal bike, take the written test, and ride around the block...more than half they can't see, so if you fuck up, the don't know. As long as you and the bike make it back in one piece, you get the endorsement.

im still confused why you're taking the riding test since u already took the msf and passed it.... unless i misunderstood something....

Thats how it used to be in PA....they figured if you can make it around the block and come back in one piece then you are good to go.

I passed the MSF...and got my endorsement from them...so I avoided the DMV bullshit. When I got my permit all I had to do was walk in and give them 10 bucks. Now there is a written test involve. Apparently its sorta difficult.

The written test here is very tricky. I guess they think if you can pass it that if you studied well enough to comprehend the test, you know what the hell you're doing. Plus, it only had like 20 or 25 questions on it. It's a very short test and if you miss 4, no matter what the grade was, you failed. And they let you know if you missed a question after you answer it, with a big red X that stays on your screen during the entire test. It can be intimidating.

It still doesn't make you a competent beginner rider though.

You have to take a test to get your license? The only test I had to take was for the permit. If you fail does that mean they tear up your MSF completion shit?

There wasn't much wait for me when I went to get my license, but the process took a very long time since I was the first to get my license after the update to the MSF shit. I think it took them about an hour to run the paper work.

The DMV test for my permit was simple, but they had a lot of trick questions. There were only 25 questions though. What pissed me off was the question about braking was incorrect. Your supposed to use both at the same time, but the test at the DMV says rear then front. Naturally, when I took the MSF test I put rear then front and got that one wrong too.. I hate bullshit like that. If I got one more wrong I would have failed, but this was before the MSF course and just for the permit.
