I made a movie on my computer. I'd like to show it through my DVD player on the TV.

How do I do it? :idk:

I burned it to a CD and when I put it in the DVD player it says "this type of disc cannot be played".

HELP!

Do you have a DVD burner? Movie Maker is pretty straight forward.

I don't have a clue what this DVD player supports.

I burned it onto a CD and when it plays on the DVD player it only plays the music with the movie....not the actual movie. :screwy:

Use Nero Showtime, does all the conversion for you.

And if I don't have Nero? Can I download it for free?

Not legally, but yeah.

Did you try burning it to a blank dvd instead?

Yeah I tried that and it didn't work.

I think I know what I have to do now. I have to convert the files using this certain program....then I have to burn the DVD using that. I'm not sure though. I'll figure itout.

Is there a way to hook my laptop up to my TV?

That would be a whole lot easier!

What kind of outputs does it have? Most likely it has an S-Video output. Just have to throw in some audio cables and you're good to go.

If I go to a store and say I need an S video cable to go from my laptop to my TV they'll know what I"m talking about? :idk:

They should. If you need help try a best buy or something. If you know what youre looking for I think even places like wal mart and target carry them.

Wait a tick. Do I need an S video cable AND an audio cable? Will the S cable make it play with the audiot too?

Sorry I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to this stuff.

Yes. S-Video is strictly Video. You'll most likely need a male connector like used with Headphones. But I doubt your TV will have an input like that so it will need to be one of those connectors that splits into female "RCA" connectors then a regular RCA audio cable to the TV (Red and White connectors) or just a one piece cable like this one. I couldnt find one when I looked before though.
