I think this kit looks cool as hell! Oh and I'm thinking of changing mine for fun. Either the "Lucky Strike" or the "Rizla Suzuki" any thoughts? Btw I can get either kit for about $400 shipped.

Is the "kit" all new body work or just the stickers. 400 seems kinda cheap for a whole new set of body work and a little pricey for stickers.

Something else to think about is fitment. It's sounds cheap for full body work, so how well will it fit up to the mounting points? I've similar stuff posted up elsewhere, but I've never been able to find any kind of review. If it all mounts up fine without any problems, then I'd say go for it. But if you've gotta do extensive work to just get it to line up...

Thats my thought 400 sounds real cheap for a "full" set of body work.

Well,I already have an aftermarket body kit and they can require some modding to make them fit perfectly but in my experience,so have race kits and even stock body work has required some Dremmel work to get it to fit right. Shit,I could tell you a horror story about Suzuki carbon fiber front and rear fenders if you're interested. Anyway,I,once again, didn't start this thread to defend Chinese plastic, they send me an email when they come up with a new kit and I thought it looked cool so...

Nope, that's what I paid for the kit on my bike now...

The pictures look pretty good. If I was hard pressed for a full set of bodywork on the cheap and had the time to make it fit, then I'd honestly think about picking this stuff up.

Just curious, but did the kit for your Suzuki come from the same company? But I'd personally go for the "Lucky Strike" I think it looks the best of the three. That Rizla blue looks kinda homo

didn't you JUST change yur body work?

Yea,I agree on the lt blue...I look at it once and think,"Sure that's ok,especially in NC (UNC Tarheels)" then I think it's gay...

So it fits up decently, looks good, and is cheap enough that you can afford another full set if you go down. Sounds like a good deal then, a full set for less than what I paid for my upper and lower.

I assume they arent pre drilled either, that knocks the price down some too.

If you get what's in the pictures, then it looks like all the mounting holes are predrilled with the mounting tabs for the adjacent body panels.

Well then you ASSume wrong! They are pre-drilled,did you not read any of the reviews I posted for Mike? I did have to "clean-up" a few holes and I had to make a trip to the hardware store because they don't always use the factory hardware (plastic snappy things) but I doubt that it made the install take more than an hour longer than stock plastic. Considering it pushes $2000 for a stock body kit....

Yea tell me about it! I mean, race plastic can take a while to install, especially if you are all "OCD" and shit!

If you are REALLY cheap,I can get you a set of fiberglass fairings for $200 bucks,no shit! They are un-drilled,non-painted and they cut the body kit down to about 6 pieces or so from 23...:idk:

I like doing project bikes, so when if I ever make it back to the states I may have to find this stuff. A project that's done on a budget and comes out properly makes all the difference.

I have never had to install plastics before and dont look forward to drilling a set since I know I would mess it up  my current and soon to be ex track bike had all that stuff done before i bought it. Guess we will see when I get something newer this year or next.

I bought a sharkskinz street upper and lower for my RC just after I bought it. Everything fit perfectly, predrilled, the headlights mounted in with no problem. Easiest bodywork I've done yet, but the upper and lower alone cost over $700 unpainted. But my main fairings went from 5 piece to 2 piece.

Yea,a lot of people think I have a "TON" of money in my bike but I don't. I got everything off Ebay or the Wera board for cheap.

I've used Sharkskinz back in the day. Always a good product but aren't they fiberglass? Oh and how do you like the "look" with the less pieces,I thought it looked kinda "funny" with less pieces,of course if you're only painting one or two colors,it probably doesn't matter.

here's another kit I really like,

Having less pieces makes track days a little easier. It also makes disassembly and reassembly a little easier too (something that I've done a lot of in the past few months). But I like the look, especially with the D-zus fasteners holding the lower on, makes the bike look like it has a purpose. And yeah, they're fiberglass. All of my bodywork is flat black, my tank is the one form my avatar.

I'm just not sure about a tank cover, I'd rather get the bodywork and repaint the tank. Wouldn't it look funny to have the "tank" sticking out too far?

That's good to know. I'm looking at Auctmarts right now, $370 for a full set. Although it's got a race tail, I can live with it or mod it to work for that kinda $.

For mine all I really needed was some patience and in some cases, some bolts, nuts and screws. Some of the mounting points where the fairing pieces attach to each other took different hardware than the stock does. Seriously, make sure you're in a good frame of mind and take your time. Besides, depending on who you purchased from, some of these "Chinese" kits have come a long way and some even claim to be exactly the same fit as OEM. In fact, several of the differeny companies sell "perfect fit" kits whose parts are interchangeable with stock pieces.

Honestly, I've fitted three of these kits now and they aren't always perfect but it has always been a matter of doing a little trimming or throwing in a screw or two. Half of the people who do all of the complaining probably couldn't install OEM plastic either without fucking it up. Besides, it is definitely no worse than fitting a set of race plastic!

The problem with the "reviews" is that there are a dozen or more companies that sell aftermarket fairing of various quality (and age). Unfortunately, all of the "Chinese plastic" gets lumped together as one entity.
