I guess I fall into that category........I put on a slip on, Scorpion, for Christmas from my wife. I really wanted one as the stock can just plain sucked as far as sound and looks. I have to be able to hear atleast a little something coming from the damn thing. :D

I just got the bike, but the first thing I plan on doing when I get money is switching out the exhaust. This thing sounds like it's humming, and I want something that roars. After that I'll probably upgrade some of the plastic to chrome and get better grips. Probably get a more comfortable seat too.
Why did you get me thinking about this?! So much money needed..

Of course I wanted exhaust but the bike is loud enough.
I did frame sliders since I didn't want my baby getting too Fed up when I biffed it.
They have already paid them selves off millions of times. :rockwoot:

Didn't like the "first thing to mod" thread zoomie started??
On the SV, first was flushmounts, then fender elim, then slip on. That order because of $$ at the time.

Race Tech Springs in the forks. I am not a 130 lb Japanese man.
The first thing I do when I get a bike is rotate the clutch lever down to where I like it. With my '09 I kept a lot of the mods from my '06 that fit right up. So my first mods to my '09 R6 were levers, smoked integrator, fender eliminator and some swingarm spools. I bought a windscreen the next day and frame sliders were shortly after that. Oh yeah, a tank pad, too.

The first thing I did on my CBR was adjusted out the 1/4 inch of slack on the throttle cables. It seems that most bikes have that. The first thing I changed were the grips. The stock "waffle" grips were like holding ....waffles.

Aside from destickering my bike, I can't remember what the first mod was I done. Either a snorkelectomy or the yoshi slip on. Hell, it could have been aftermarket front blinkers. My ex did it all around the same time so I can't remember. :idk:

My Buell already had an exhaust. First thing I did was put frame sliders on it.

My post from the other thread...
My bike already had an aftermarket exhaust so that was something I did not have to do.
First thing I purchased was my Ohlins shock...but Mark would not let me put it on until I realized how awful the stock ride was.
By the time I got the Ohlins installed I already did my stars and my seat. :D
Why?...Ohlins rock, my seat sucked, and I love stars. :D

Put some decent handlebars on it. Grip heaters at the same time. The stock bars were too "sit up and beg." Passenger grab bars- mainly to add tie down points.
The rest is mostly practical maintenance type upgrades. Removed the fork reflectors for easier stand/caliper access. Stickier tires, better brake pads.
At some point, I'll put on stainless lines and suspension upgrades. No blingy pretty nonsense for me. (The lines will be black or smoked with plain ends- purely functional)

I haven't done anything yet. I can't justify it when I need other things worse.
I would put on a steering damper. I think it would help the handling of the bike on the track.
I would also put on a different exhaust to make it louder. Anything to make myself more noticeable on the street.

New seat! I bought it from a dealership a hundred miles out of town, and the first thing I did after riding it home was go inside, stand in front of the computer, and start researching seat options.

My first mod on EVERY sportbike I've owned (8 I think) has been to dremel or take the ugly azz SS Enterprise rear fenders off !!!! I've always hated stock rear fenders.
The next mod was flushmounts.
When I got my 08' 250r...the first thing I did was take off the ugly tag holder and customize it. Now it’s small and pretty.

Done at the same time... removed the big honkin reflectors off the front fork guards, AND replaced the front tire.
Why? The reflectors were kinda ugly (and I'm going to do reflective rim tape), and the front tire was baldish.

My first mods are always the exhaust. It's not necessarily about "more power", I simply don't want my bikes to sound like the damn sewing machines. Gotta release some of that character.

That happened to mine a little after I put the frame sliders on. Cut that bitch in half...right below the tag mount...

Judging from the list of bikes you have... they'll still sound like a sewing machine.. just one thats about to blow... lol

First thing I did to my Tuono... before I even registered or insured it... was bring it to the track & do a track day :D
Then, after pushing the front through turn 1a I ditched the Bridgestones for some Pirelli's. :D
