California....when I stopped (there was no chase) the cop told me I was exceeding 155....I asked how he knew this since he claimed it was 30 miles back he told me the radar guns only work until 155, then they just BLINK 155 when its exceeded. $1400 fine.

Holy Guacamole.

I got caught doing 131 in an 80 km/h zone. I was foolishly speeding because I was late meeting up for a group ride an hour away. The cop dropped it down to 19 over and I am very thankful.

45 minutes later we were stopped again but the cop let us off because we'd just gotten tickets that morning (there were 2 of us). We were only doing about 10 over the second time. :idk:

105 in a 55 in NC in 2005...with the lawyer and the fine it only cost me like $400...I was thankful, since if that was in FL would've cost well over a grand and probably would've lost my license, bike and wound up in jail...especially if it were to happen here now

PS. That was also my last ticket :D

Only one on the bike. Obstructed Tag. That was a $120 fine. Luckily the USFS guy who pulled me over didn't write me for speeding, but gave me a warning for doing 55mph in a 45. But said he caught me doing 60.

All in one Stop

Unliscensed Rider
Unisured Motorcycle
Failure to Yield to a Emergengy Vehicle
Unclear Plate

Should be suspension of liscense for min one year and points out the asshole...not to mention fines up the waahoo...

I walked away with Unclear plate and failure to PROVIDE Insurance Papers...and a 700 Dollar Court Bill...Plus 500 for the Lawyer.

And that is why I am now Liscensed and Insured Properly

My very first speeding ticket was on my bike back in 07. 81 in a 60.

I've also gotten a no inspection sticker ticket on her too. Oops.

Yeah, passing a cop over a double yellow at The Gap. Nice.

Mine was 79 in a 55... at least how he wrote it up... I was slowing down coming into a 35 zone which was still very rural... I'm sure I was going over 80 and I was well within the 35 zone, but the cop was cool as hell.

He told me 4 more mph and he would been taking my ass to jail.. Also didnt have my proof of insurance with me, he gave me a warning for that.. I guess I got lucky..

Honestly? The only thing I've ever been ticketed for on a bike was 'Failure to Signal a Lane Change'. Get this, though- I was over a mile ahead of the cop (who chased me out of his jurisdiction), riding into the Arizona sunset, with mini short stalk blinkers.

In court, the cop testified that he couldn't remember what kind of motorcycle I was on, what color it was, which direction I was going, or where I was when he saw me, but he was confident that if I had used my blinker he would have seen it. The judge believed him and stuck me with the ticket. That was about five years ago.

I figured out a long time ago that it was easier to just obey the law and not have to worry about it. ;)

In addition to the worst ticket, I got a series of tickets (total of 12) at one stop.

Cruising Central one night in Phoenix with my then g/f Shelly, I realized I had left my wallet at home so we were heading back there to get it.

We came to a red light and we were the first car stopped in the right lane. A M/C cop was sitting at the corner in a gas station and waived me into the station. He asked me for Lic/Reg/Ins.....none of which I had si he proceeded to run my info and write me 3 tickets. Big Mouth Shelly pipes in with, "What is this? The ticket going to get you a free ticket to Hawaii??"

LEO was not happy with her big frickin mouth so he then decides to fine-tooth-comb my little lowered Toyota P/U for any other infractions. Needless to say there were many, most of which were just B/S tickets but they were tickets nonetheless.

Head Lights Out of Adjustment - Beams must be 24" from center to ground
Tail Lights Out of Adjustment - Beams must be 18" to center from the ground
License Plate out of adjustment - Tag can be no closer than 12" to the ground
No Horn Button - I was missing the center cap of the steeringwheel so he assumed it did not work
Headlight Emitting a Red Appearance - I had tape striped them to match the color of the truck sso everything was Monochromatic Red
No Door Handles - Safety Issue - Shaved Bodywork
Vehicle Too Low to the ground - It would not go over a pack of cigarettes without dragging them.
When I tried raising the hydrolic bed up to get out of the taillight and tag ticket, he cited me for a visual obstruction of my rear view mirror since I was not equipped with a right hand door mirror.
Tail Lights Emitting a Blue Color - I had Blue Dots installed and he claimed Blue was for emergency vehicles only
Noise Ordinance - It was after 11pm and my stereo was heard more than 20 feet outside the vehicle.

So, Shelly then tells the cop, "Oh, this must be the ticket you write which allows your whole fucking family to go to Hawaii as well, huh?" I thought for sure we were going to jail.

Needless to say, all of them were fix-it tickets and I eventually got out of them all but it sure was an interesting night!

64 in a 35. The funny part is that it was the only ticket I ever got that really wasn't mine. The cop missed the car that was speeding and gave me his ticket. I guess when the choice is a gold Taurus
or a white and red FZR and a rider in full leathers.. well I guess you could say, She only had eyes for me.

Here in Georgia I thought that 24 over could get your taken to jail. Which would be 89 in your case. Never head the 30over part.

Where were you popped?

NTS: You passed a cop over a double yellow at Deal's Gap? I'm trying to figure out that thought process. I don't enjoy passing cops on the interstate.

yea. after i (arguably) won the coast race i parked the bike at the bottom of the resevoir. I thought we'd stop. they kept goin... well i dont like being in the back of the pack so i decided to go very very fast. and there was an SUV in my way. We dont have SUV patrol cars in ohio. I passed the cop going very very fast. I didnt get clocked, and because she got a good laugh about it i didnt get cited for speeding. just dangerous maneuver or something... as soon as i got passed her i realized it was a cop and just pulled over.

theres a classic pic of me holding up the ticket w/ every1 floating around here somewhere.

Damn NtS, I had almost forgotten you used to ride that red F3.

My worst on the bike was 49 in a 35. I made it 50 miles averaging about 115 on the highway trying to beat a huge storm home. Made it into town only running 10-15 over. Got pulled over a mile away from my house and a tornado touched down 5 miles away about the time i got home.

Knock on wood, only been pulled over twice on the bike w/ one warning. First time was 85 in a 65 4 lane divided highway, cop gave me a warning and talked about bikes for 5 minutes with me after.

Second time, same highway, just where it goes to 55 near town i got clocked at 86. The cop asked if I was prior service after I pulled my helmet off (I keep my hair cut short still) and proceeded to tell me to slow down. Didn't even run my tag or take my license out of my hand that I was holding for him w/ my insurance card. Both were GSP so i got lucky both times.

I bet if I'd been on a sportbike I'd have gotten a ticket both times though. I honestly pass cops frequently on the bike doing 15-20mph over the limit and they don't even take a second look. I'll have to be way more careful when I get my FZ1 I bet.

And you thought that stripe was a pimptastic paint job??? There are 331 or so turns at Deal's Gap so you had to see the side at some point in time.

Should have wheelied and taken the offroad trails. It's a Honda so you would have been fine.

How did you get price AND points lowered. Normally I have to pay I have to pay a higher price to get points taken off.

I knew (In general not just cycles) some people who said they were willing to pay the full price if they didn't get any points added to have the judge accept it.

But They do usually say Police on the back of them...

When I was 15 i got a warning for 130 in a 45...

Then 3 years ago, I get popped for $180 because i moved close to the center of the lane while behind traffic to get fresh air in the radiator to cool her down some.... state trooper swares i crossed the double yellow into oncoming traffic and I was creating a panic amongst the other motorists.

I got stopped last year for "riding like an ass". I swerved a little in my lane to miss a limb that was portruding out from a grassing area on the side of the street from the city cutting trees limbs earlier (I guess they missed this one). There was a boulevard between the cop and I and we were travelling in opposite directions so I guess all he saw was the swerve, not what I was avoiding. Later I was told by the cop he wouldn't have stopped me if I had been on a REAL bike...he rides a Harley. Grrr...!!!!

worst ticket was 110 in a 55.

best warning was 85 in a 35

dumbest was like someone above only my cop was at least unmarked when I cut him off. :idk: I got a warning at least because I was wearing gear

Now days I have severly slowed down. (hence the HD instead of a sport bike anymore) Having a driving record like a teen is no longer fun in my 40's so I'm almost clean of all tickets. Haven't had one in 2 1/2 years. Got tired of buying those guys those fancy new cars I guess.

Worst one had to be when I had no endorsement and was riding my 250 Yamaha and left one night to go to my buddies house. I left my house and my battery almost wouldn't start my bike, so it idled very badly and tried to die on me. When I got to the stop sign at the bottom of the road, I kind of gently rolled through it so as to not let the bike die and out of no where, here comes the Super Trooper. I ran it into a parking lot cause I knew it was going to die and sure enough, it did. He asked why I rolled through the stop sign and I told him what was going on and he saw that it wouldn't start back. He asked for my license and insurance card and I told him that I left them in my buddies car who had just dropped me off. I told him that I had just got my license that day just before closing and gave him my name. He pulled it up and saw that the endorsement was not showing and said, and I quote, "You know how slow Raleigh is. They must have not got it on today." :D He then let me off with a failure to stop ticket and I called my bud to come jump the bike off and I never rode it again. :D
