It was a slow news day, two-and-a-bit years ago, and I live in a town that has a huge Portuguese population.

The funny thing is that my wife fucking loves that band. I make fun of her all the time.

I liked a couple of their older songs, but they've moved to these whiney "slice of life" type songs and they turn me ghey for three minutes. So I'm no fan.

However, the people at that concert were grade-A douchenozzles. If you don't like a band, fine, save your money when their concert comes to town and change the station when they hit the radio. But don't go to their concert and ruin it for people who paid good money to be there and enjoy themselves.

"Never Again" makes me want to find someone in a wife-beater and take a machete to him.

(People who have read my previous similar posts may notice that I have a bit of a machete fetish. I blame it on Dungeons and Dragons. At least I will at my trial.)

The song Just Four always made me think of a chick I used to date. Never really got over her but she got over me real fast, then under some psychotic asshole that she had to get a couple of restraining orders on. And the song Next Contestant is a good one for anybody who's been uncomfortable with their chick in public because of some guy getting a little too friendly.

Some of their earlier songs were pretty good, but I agree they sound terrible now..

I always thought that was one of their better songs. I like some of the songs on their first album. :idk: But what do I know? I listen to rap and hip hop most times.

I agree with Buck though. If they didn't like them, they shouldn't have been at the concert harrassing them. That's as bad as the religious fanatics picketing concerts...I remember those....

Europe seems to be in that super gay romanian pop techno beat shit. God forbid you use a guitar and non-synthesized drums.

Damn. I don't like Britney Spears, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go to a concert with her and tell her to get the fuck out. And if she is one of many bands I'll stay for the ones I like and go elsewhere for the ones I don't like.

I liked some of their older stuff too. :idk:

What I don't get is why all this hate is directed at Nickelback?
There have been so many musical abortions of so much greater magnitude, I just don't see how they became such a scapegoat.
I think it's all the people that had their girlfriends stolen by Kip Winger back in the late 80's stirring up trouble.

ACK! My first ex hubby...the babies daddy....looked exactly like Kip Winger back when we were first married. If I still had pictures, I'd poste 'em. That was before he started becoming MULLET MAN! :panic:

I like the older nickelback stuff, once in a while their newer songs will come on and I will listen but I won't go out of my way to find it.
