All of you foreign make promoters should have bought an American vehicle because once Obama gives the Big 3 another bailout to the tune of 22 billon in a few months, your gonna pay for it out of your taxes anyways.

See Pauldun, I told you one day you'd be buying GM. :dthumb:

As I've always said.........If it weren't for import competition, the Big Three would still be making Pinto-caliber automobiles.

So is the "Bale Out" free money with no strings like the 700Billion the banking industry got? Or is it a loan that is payed back with interest?
You know, like Crysler got and paid back with interest in the 80's.

The only automobile plant I've seen with my own eyes is the BMW plant in SC. :idk:

Nevertheless my husband does drive a Ford.

Give Ford another 6 months...with the highest loss ever in the last Q of 08, they will be needing a bailout soon.

well hell this might be the only way you can buy a domestic and not have to be let down by it's reliablility...

the only good time to grab a domestic (or most any other car) is once its used at around 100,000 miles. #1 you get a fantastic discount and pick of the litter for options and trim levels #2 no warrantee to worry about. do whatever the fuck you please with it. and #3 cars that lived that long have a high probability of not being a monday or friday car. can usually do another 100,000 easy with regular maintanance

Actually the best is at 10k miles, not 100k. At 10k it has lost 50% of its MSRP.

I have a ford f150 with 130,000 mi never been in shop, chev car with 70,000 been in once and a jeep with 25 K on it in one year.
Very reliable vehicles. I still remember when I was broke azz and had to buy yotas and piss-ons. biggest piles of crap I have ever bought. Even a new Toy got me 10K before it was junk. Lemon lawed a Suzuki SUV 9 months after purchase. Yeah they sure set the standard. (you can't say I didn't try them)

everyone has their own opinion. I wouldn't buy one except as a rat car to go to work in. Even then it would have to be cheap enough to be disposable because I'm not wasting my time fixing their crap.

The big 3 have a way to go... but people have such horrible tunnel vision that they forget how BMW was almost bankrupted a few years back... the talk of selling the cycle division.

Toyota, Honda and Nissan are govt subsidized by the japanese govt. The big three (GM, Chrysler) did not ask for free money, like the banks, but for a LOAN!

People like to complain, and complain about cars when they should be complaining about banks and bad govt management. Banks and investors lost us (me and most people I know 40-50% of our wealth) but banks got hundreds of billions in BAILOUT (no payback needed) money.

I agree, UAW has been a HUGE factor at hurting the american companies but there are a hundred other problems that brought them down.

Let's drop the ONLY american manufacturing industry left in this country... let's depend on other countries to support us and give us what we need. Yeah, keep putting down american products and companies, this recession will be a joke compared to the crap we'll go thru.

Rant Off... getting off soapbox...
