Looks cool! Screen play by Ridley Scott. Tuskegee Airmen. I hope to God it doesn't come off like a WW2 black Top Gun. Those guys were the shit and deserve an honest portrayal!

Yeah I saw that one. It was ok and followed their story well but left out alot of action. But I bet the Lucas one will have some really dramatic flying footage, CGI or not.

I also saw their story on "Dogfights" on the History channel, top stuff...

Good point on all the dog fights. I think their big accomplishments were as bomber escorts, they drastically cut down bomber losses.

What will suck is he'll probably make this movie great. Then 10years from now he'll do a re-release and add a bunch of extra shit to fuck it up. I want to kick him in the nuts for all the extra CGI bullshit he put in the original star wars.

If George Lucas writes the script, it will suck. He is such a control freak, that I would be surprised if he doesn't smother the talent associated with the film.

I'm not holding out much hope. Shame really. Some of the best, most talented pilots of WWII are unknown.

Fake hair...... there's not too many people his age with a straight-across hairline.

Also how about making a movie about other military specialties, like tank drivers, combat controllers, PJ's, combat engineers, etc...... Pilots get too much glamour IMO.

His hair is probably CGI.

For the tank there is the movie "The Desert Fox" about the German tank commander Erwin Rommel. Badass motherfucker

And wasn't the movie "In the Army Now" with Pualy Shore about combat controllers???

The parajumpers would be pretty cool.

Combat Egineers. Guess you could count Bridge on the River Kwai and the glider soldiers from "The Longest Day". Both involve blowing up bridges.


But my guess is any movie from now on associating with the military has to show there was a small group of black people who did something and how much more awesome than white people they were. Or it has to be about how much some private hates being a soldier in the all volunteer army.

Hey now! The Tuskegee Airmen overcame great odds to become a standout outfight. But I don't think they will ever be thought of as "much more awesome" than Chenaults AVG/the Flying Tigers, Black Sheep/VMF214, or the "mighty eighth".

They should get credit for what they were.
