That is sad. That is one reason that I guess I am a little more reserved when it comes to riding. I have two daughters and a very good and loving wife that I want to come home to each and ever day. Seeing something like this makes me wonder why it is that I even want to keep a bike.......

That is terribly sad and i feel bad for him and his family, i wish them the best, i also have 2 daughters and a good loving woman, but i know there are lots of other things that can take me out or mess me up other than my bike....and i'm completely not being an ass but had this happened to someone in a car, i wouldn't sell my truck and not drive again
but i did say a little prayer for him and his family and hope they do well...

I totaly agree that it could happen in a car, truck, bus, on a skateboard or whatever. The fact is, we are at more of a risk (IMHO) out there on the street than most anything else on a daily basis. The way we ride can also dictate the expectancy of our life/lifestyle. ;)

the way we eat,and take care of ourselves, etc can dictate it even more, but i mean if you think you are gonna die or get messed up everytime you go out on the bike, it may be best to sell it

That definitely sucks but better that it happened when it did instead of after he picked up his girl/wife like he said he was going to do...it could have been both of them.
Being inexperienced he shouldn't have even thought about taking a passenger.
Man that sucks...hope he can recover.
