You know, "OWN IT!" I have the title to my bike, my car and my truck. We owe for the wifes car and the house and I plan on keeping it that way for some time. ;)

So how many of you have the title to your ride?

Funny you brought this up as I've been fighting with the ex for almost a year for the title to my bike! I finally got it and had her put in my name last week! :dthumb:

Yep. Just paid it off in August. Prior to selling the 250, I owned it too for the last couple years. And I have owned my car for nearly 11 years.

payments make me want to puke. No payments for me. I'd rather walk first.

All my toys are 100% paid cash for. All my vehicles are 100% paid cash for.

Louie's new truck - we're making payments - against my better judgement.

Yup, my bike title is resting at home. I mean, there is $700 still on my personal CC, but it was a p2p transaction.

The cycles are all paid off. I paid cash for the ZR1100 in may and the triples were paid for in 1983 and 1984  I have spent close to $2K in parts to freshen up the triples ( which is 3X more than I paid for both the bikes )

The '01 Suburban, '01 Jeep Cherokee, '77 Corvette , the 18' I/O boat and the '24 pontoon boat are all paid for.

But I do have a mortgage :panic:

I am afraid that I learned the hard way during the 80's that Credit is not my friend so if I can pay for it I don't need it. All 6 of our bikes and both of our cars are paid for. The we do carry some paper on our house because the the accountant tells us that makes the most sense.

normally I would, I have the title to my '08 Jeep and had the bike titles for the other bikes. This one however is kind of a personal zing on a guy at work. He is the completely useless idiot that every co has. I bought the bike on payments and the overtime I work to cover his screw ups makes the payments.

funny thing he got an award for my work, and when someone mentioned it to me, I told them my reward sits in the garage, he went away pouting. Yeah he'll be making another payment on her this weekend. He hates it when I thank him for the bike.

The car and the Jeep are paid for. I did finance the new bike, but I went with the 0/0 for 6 months just because I got a deal I had to grab quick and needed a couple weeks to get the money together. Paid it off in less than a month, but I'm still waiting on them to mail me the title.

My truck is paid off (Though parents paid most of it from when I was in highschool) and I paid cash for my 1st motorcycle. Sold that and paid cash for my 2nd motorcycle.

I only owe $400 on a credit card and $1000 on a loan that I got for a laptop computer for school when my other laptop died and I needed one fast. Credit card was mainly to build some credit. I pay cash for all of my school classes.

I've never financed a motorcycle- even when buying new, I pay cash. Of all my cars, I've only ever financed one, and that was when I was just starting out on my own and I paid it off early. I don't own a house anymore, but I had a mortgage on the last one and will probably have one on the next one.

It just doesn't make sense to me to finance a depreciating asset. Besides, bikes are cheap. :idk:

I have no problem with payments, mostly because I can't seem to save up money long enough to buy anything with cash. However, once I get a payment book I hate it and pay it off as soon as I can. Ive started a small collection of titles in my safe, I have the title for the KZ440, the GSX-R, my truck, my camaro, the KDX dirt bike, and my camper. We just bought a Jeep so we got payments on that but im gettin that "pay it off itch" and have made 2 double payments in a row. Ill probably never see the "title" for my house!

I try to own anything that I drive/ride. I just hate knowing that when I am paying for soemthing, it becomes worth less each payment that I make on it. :( I also don't like not being able to simply grab the title, should I choose to want to sell/trade it on a whim. I'm not rich and I have been fortunate, as of late, to be able to do some of the things that I have wanted to get done.

Yep, own the bike and the car. And should be getting my hands on another bike soon that i am paying cash for.

Now i don't mind having a bike payment (though i cant afford one right now) if they interest is low enough and i can pay it off relatively quick, or it gets transferred to a 0% apr credit card, since i don't necessarily want to cough up lump cash like that.

I am holding out getting a newer car though, since i dont' want the payments. My car is a 94 corolla and i'm going to drive it to the ground first! Hopefully I can get another couple of years out of it first!
