View Full Version : Tremendous Weather

No Worries

Anyone else having great weather? Denver hit 76 degrees yesterday. Warmest in 137 years. Four days in a row over 70. We didn't get any snow in February, but the mountains got tons of snow. This winter we had at least 20 days with the temperature 60 or more. This type of weather is associated with La Nina. With all this riding weather, I can't get anything done.

Awesome weather today. 70 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Rode to work, it'll probably take me a couple of hours to get home.

If you two are going to make it a long ride, head on over to Talimena Drive. Stop in the Taimena State Park Saturday night and hang out with us dirt bikers for the evening. Don't forget your tent :dthumb:

I still don't believe OK has hills.

The only turns that the roads out there make are the kind Tracy designs for highway offramps.

You shall see the truth, and be healed, of your skepticism! Honestly, during the summer and fall the hills are at their most beautiful, and up in parts of Talimena the trees were so big they created tunnels through the mountains during the summer when they were in full leaf.

Watch it there snippy!

You need to watch the Bywayofmotorcycle Motoscavy again. I took video out there! Watch this link, go to the 3:00 minute mark of the segment, and you will see the hills that are along the Talimena Drive. Chi, I give you video! Just ignore my southern accent.

Yeah, we have that kind of riding in San Marcos at the Devil's Backbone.

You should see the Three Sisters (sometimes known as the Twisted Sisters) out by Leakey. :D It's got nothing on Deal's Gap, but it's pretty good for close to home. :dthumb:

I'll admit I don't really have time to look at *all* the pictures right now, but from what I did see, I don't think either of Tracy's bikes are suited for trail riding.

I didn't mean for you to come ride with us, just hang out at camp in the evenings. There is the Talimena drive and the winding staircase close by that are marvelously twisty, paved roads through some beautiful mountain scenery. If you haven't been, you ough to check it out.

some snow I can deal with. Snow and wind that shut down half the state is another thing total.

BUT, you won't see on CNN tonight that all the govt is coming to ND's rescue from this "natural disaster" and throw money at all of us as we dig out. No... this is not like living on the coast and getting hit by a hurricain. We chose to live here... Oh wait... so did they...

Those in Grand Forks got some help in 97 after the flood.
Nothing as national as the huricains EVERY YEAR in the south though.
