I finally got the Busa back in proper riding condition after the mess I created from going to the Bonneville Salt Flats last year.

Anyway, for her first shakedown run of the year, I'm going to polish off one of those white states in my sig that everyone likes to make fun of me for.

I'm going to head to Memphis, Tennessee for lunch March 28. Since all good rides should include local flair and food, this one shall be no different.

I'll be going to Dyer's Burgers on Beale Street. ETA will be around noon.

It is a 966 mile round trip for me. I plan on riding out, having lunch, and getting home by dinner time to post pictures. :)

Anybody within a 500 mile radius of Memphis is game at a minimum. C'mon, it's a day ride! I'm posting this now to give everyone plenty of advance notice on the odd chance someone should choose to join me for lunch.

Whos' up for lunch at a Memphis icon?!

Ok, for the geographically challenged, I added a pretty circle on the map to let you know if you're within the target area generally.

Really, I was just bored. :pwhore2:

I work Saturdays and the ride to Memphis sucks anyway ;) Interstates suck for that long and the back way out there from here sucks too.

Otherwise I would :D

What roads are you taking out? I might have to meet up and ride down there with ya. Says 285 miles for me if I angle across, but 350 if i go down toward little rock first.

I'm going to jet down I-40. An easy 7 hour ride give or take each way. :D

Are you bringing the woman?

No, she will be out of town that weekend with some family matters. Whyfer? You're welcome to come too Triple. You're welcome to bring your girl though if you like. Surely she won't be afraid to be the only girl there?

I don't think it's safe to introduce my wife to anyone from CF or TWF.

Well leave her at home and come to Memphis for burgers!

What you should do is head up I44 to Springfield, MO, then we'll head down there on non-interstates.

Plus I need to put my new tires on. Need to figure out how I'm going to manage that too.

May as well head up to meet me then. It's only an extra hundred miles or so, then on the way back, we can switch up the route and I'll just turn off somewhere random.

If I have some sort of income at that time and get my new tires on, I'll seriously consider it. A long ride to break in new tires sounds nice. :D

Nothing like lots of highway riding to flatspot those new tires. :nee:

If I still haven't started my drive to Alaska than I would be in. If I start my trip around that time I just may show with a truck and the bike in the back even though its cheating. But I would probably continue on to Alaska from there.

A little far for me but if you're out cruising around, there's a riders' club meeting for the online mag I'm associated with on Monday night, because His Editorship is coming in from Montreal. It's at a nice Irish pub.

Let's see if I can get a straight answer from the wifey today. She's mainly just worried of the distance solo and what-not, not the fact I'm going to be meeting up w/ you slackers.

Maybe she's covering up the "meeting with you slackers" part by using the distance as an excuse?

I don't think I'm going to tell my parents about this trip, lol. They always worry and want me to call them every time I stop for gas, and they expect that i need to fill up every 30 minutes it seems. So since I'll be in Springfield anyway, I may as well ride.
