First ride of the season today. Damn was it nice. Just a short 4 mile rip to work...but it felt GREAT to be riding. And the Buell runs AWESOME in cold weather.

Got up a little early...but the battery back in it. Checked tire pressure, checked lights, brakes. Everything good. Fired right up. (How I love F.I. bikes.)

Man oh man.

Here's a pic of the bike sitting in the lot at work.

Very nice, I am making my maiden voyage to work on the bike tomorrow. Whimped out due to the cold and possibility of rain this morning.

Roads are wet, but mostly clear. It rained last night. Supposed to be in the mid 50's today and mid 60's tomorrow.

I went on a nice 90 mile jaunt yesterday afternoon down MO-125. Took it slow just checking out how the road looks this spring. Badass. 45 miles out and back.

Sweet. My maiden voyage was on the 8th, but that was a mere 10 miles as it was still only 20 degress out. Oh, and FYI, when you have 20W50 in your internals, even FI doesn't make it an easy start when it's that cold. :panic:

Took it out again last night, another 30some miles. Trying to get the ECM to "learn" the new flash, although the low end seems better.

Lets just say the ol battery tender stayed plugged in until it was running... and it was a rather high RPM ride.

I meant in terms of the difficulty in getting the carburated GSXR to start every spring. That was a two day process. This was merely hitting the starter button a couple times.

Nice, I fired up the futura for the first tim eyesterday but that was with fresh oil and a battery that sa tinside all winer on a tender. Took a few seconds for it to turn over but she finally fired up.

I may leave the tender on it outside for a while since we will have some cooler weather again later in the week.

I left my bike in my dad's heated shop all winter, but not on the tender since it was down here in springfield. Fired up first time that i hit the started button, with choke about 1/2 on.

Tried to start mine at -10, and fouled the plugs. Changed em out today and she fired up on the 6th try. Then I went for a quick highway jaunt at 2 degrees and put it away..

Yeah, I made a comment about getting a new Challenger SRT8. GF said if I drove home with that, I better damn well have a ring in my pocket for her too.
When I asked why, she told me that if I could afford that car, I could afford a ring.

She got rather pissy when I told her it was not money that was keeping me from buying her a ring, but more comments like that.

For what it would cost me to upgrade to a new model I could have a garage full of 1098's. I'm her free meal ticket. She doesn't work, and the kids are in school during the day. I've already talked to a lawyer and aside from the child support and giving her half of everything we own, I would have to pay for 100% of her living expenses for at least 3 years. So it's cheaper to keep her around for now.

I had to suck it up and but the rock last year over a new track bike, and now were saving for the house, but she knows a new track bike and prolly a street bike are in the immediate future.

She has lost a lot of weight and did buy her clothes and several pairs of boots so I call that even.

She said she needs new shoes for the spring and I told her I dont see a new bike in the driveway so that will have to wait:idk:
