seen this on Top Gear the other night, was like in the top 5 fastest cars w/ tha stig. and watching the stig around the course was awesome, no electronic gizmo's , just pure driving skill!

I think the most amazing things are that the car is a design refined over the last 50 years and Caterham has been producing cars with similar performance for over 10 years. The real shame is that Top Gear chooses to rarely test them and when they do they give us a fraction of a normal test apparently because they view the car as too "dorky".

I'm think'n the suspension needs work :lol:

One of the issues of using an r6 shock laid over like that is that it gets blown out easily and needs replacing.

yup it sorta was, and no not so locost, but still cheaper than the real thing. I used more than a few original parts, including most of the firewall and the trans tunnel. You can tell a locost vs a lotus by the square tubing, the caterham while looking very similar uses a very different frame, not even close to the original.

All I really need to explain is that I had a 13btt in a car that weight a little under 1200 lbs with me

hah i thought that engine looked a lil wierd :lmao: i wanted to use a chrysler 2.4 upped past srt4 specs and mated to a supra r154 tranny via a dakota ax15 bellhousing. actually i originally intended to drop that setup in a 60's era val or cuda A-body. but money and garage space never really allowed for it. i'll prob still build the motor but instead of converting it for rwd use i'll just mate it to one of my A555 trannys and drop it in my shelby.

the thought of having 500 ponies ripping the front wheels loose at highway speeds makes me feel silly :rockwoot:
