should be pretty impressive
I need a GPS. I've seen 176 on my bike but I know it's not that accurate. The '08 R6 actually broke 170 though.

not much difference and the busa barely beating the liter bikes and loosing to the 14. there's some people going to dispute that one. LOL
look at the traps, zx10 is beating everyone

I have a GPS mounted on the Busa with ram mounts, and I have seen a GPS-verified 170mph in 5th gear at redline.
Unfortunately, the crosswind got to the point that I wasn't able to get into 6th and see how much further I could take it safely. She was pulling very strong through 5th, so I am curious how much more is there.
This test was completed at a top secret high desert testing facility, etc. etc.

Yea so much for the "gentleman's agreement" of 186.. My 2000 'Busa did just under 200 with a pipe, power commander and air filter. Besides,a lot of that depends on gearing, take one tooth off the rear sprocket of any of those bikes and voila'...

that wouldn't do them any good in the 1/4 though. -1 on the front helps through the 1/4 though.

Saw the 09's in Daytona...they were fucking hideous. Like just about every other Japanese literbike there....:panic:

I thought we were talking top end here.... BTW I disagree sometimes you can lower your quarter times by moving some of the off the line spin to a higher top speed in a lower gear.

you're probably right.

umm-assuming u mean trap speed in the 1/4, who gives a shit if you went 150? if im on a busa, according to this, im still crossing the finish line a tenth or so before you, aka winning.
but this doesnt matter, besides the fact that this was '08, no1 races their bike 100% stock, and top speed is a moot point, they're all within a few mph of each other, gentlemans agreement or not.

I'll be happy to revise that statement when the 09 comparison comes out. Until then... Gix 1K. Trust me I'd love to see the R1 as top dog, I just haven't seen any numbers for it yet.
