I.E., Dzus fasteners. The stock ones that are on the 1098 call for an allen wrench, and I'd much rather have something where it would be easier to take the fairings off for maintenance/cleaning etc.

Is there somewhere that sells them specific for motorcycles (or even better, specifically for Ducati)? Or any place in particular that y'all would recommend?

Thanks! :D

you can either get the rivet kind or clip on style (which usually go by the name panex fasteners)

They come in all sorts of different heads like d-ring or button

I was thinking the D-ring fasteners, but having zero experience with them aside from seing them on other peoples' bikes, I wouldn't even know where to begin or what kind is preferable being that most of the riding I do (and that Tracy will be doing with my bike while I'm gone) is street.

Although knowing Tracy, I'll be lucky if my bike gets ridden once in a blue moon. :panic:

what color do you want, how many, and do you want the rivet or clip on type?

Let me get back to you on that after I've done a little more research.

These are the rivet type, you have to use a rivet gun and mount the tabs on the bike pretty much permanently.

These are the clip on type, which the mount just slides on

Hmmm... being as I don't have a rivet gun, I'd probably go for the clip on type.

Unless maybe the extra effort of finding a rivet gun would be worth it in the long run?

I use the clipons for my race plastics, much rather them than the rivet type.

Yeah, Tracy explained to me about the rivets... clipons it is then.

Thanks for the help, Trip! I'll look around on ebay and see what I find.
