had that happen to me once and it royally sucked, back then I used to have the dealer do the swap so they charged whatever they wanted. At least now I can snag a track day take off or something untill I get a new set.

But you got options

1. With video rolling, burn that bitch off! Post for all of us to see.
2. Replace tire
3. Plug tire (being hole is in the center)
4. With video rolling...Go behind a store with a brick wall, get off the bike, rev it to 8k, dump the clutch and watch the bike slam into the said wall and cry. We will laugh.
5. If its not a sportbike (cause I don't they make em for them) put a tube in it. Honestly, its pretty common.

I had a rear pick up a nail about 3 miles from the dealership and bust my rear hugger all to hell when it ripped out. I was pissed and broke I put a plug in it and it held just fine. I would not plug a front tire but a rear I'm OK with for street only.

its just alil off center- 4mm, im gonna plug, but damn. PITA

gman-they dont make a rear tube the right size-or i would. ive had a tube up to 160mph countless times, no issues.

Yeah people don't even think about tubes... so I thought I would suggest... carry on...

Just plugged it ? I have a tire with less than 300 miles on it in the garage not currently on the bike that I'm going to patch and plug from the inside out and put it on the bike.

I used to be totally against plugging or patching a motorcycle tire but have never heard of one failing and causing an accident.

I haven't seen an epic failure. I have seen (had one) patched tires start leaking again though.

Wouldn't run one on the track, but for commuting... probably, if the tire was that new yet.

That's the thing. Everybody is so against it but I too have never heard of any failing.

yea, outside plug. wanted to do the inside patch n plug, but no time-or a way to get it off the rim.

also if for some odd reason it fails, im back where i started, slowly losing air. its not like its gonna make the bike blow up.

FUCK that sucks ass... that shit's no good.

Dude the tire is still good (minus the front). You HAVE to patch/plug the tire and have it done correctly. I've done the plug/patch many times and rode hard on the street and on the track. The tire was always OK.

that may be true... still sucks ass that you get a nail in a tire with only 240 miles in it...

and for me... I can't trust a tire that's plugged... never will... I had a plug with slime go out on me at 90mph after a shop told me it was basically a permanent fix. (I didn't know any better) I came with in a few feet of going off a 90' ledge in back country Alaska. I'd probably still be there err my remains would be had that happened.

Good to hear. I won't do just a plug but a plug/patch in the tread area of basically a new tire I will do.
