Lets face it. we all love the look of shinny parts and sleek corners, but when it comes down to it nothing beats the look of self fab'd parts. Zip ties and duct tape got me home from Tennessee last year... If I've spent 2k on new parts for my bike and 20 dollars on zip ties and duct tape, it seems the thing im always glad i have is the later.

Coming from the rock crawling world, this statement could not be truer. :rockwoot: I much preffer building, rather than buying on most items but am quickly learning that it's not as easy on bikes.

No tape or zip ties on my bikes ever. I haven't had a reason to, but I know they are handy. It's best to keep a few zip ties with you at all times.

Ive never had to use zip ties on my new bike other than to keep wires or hoses in place. However, my first camaro was a 81 Z28 and I kept a roll of duct tape in the trunk and I had 3 full bags of zip ties in there, (three diffrent sizes) and there were times I wouldn't have made it home with out them.

Same for me... good thing being they only have 200 & 50 miles on them.

My current bike's tail fairings are pretty well ziptied onto the bike on account of the tabs that are SUPPOSED to keep em there breakin off. fuck it, they work, and I'm good with that.

no duct tape, penty of electrical though holding various things in their places.

Mine was for a while since I lost a bolt. I just replaced when I hacked my fender off after having it zip tied for about a year.

The guy that previously owned my bike lost about 1/3 of the fairing screws on the entire bike. It was all held together by zip ties....

And I hated that. First thing i did was snip those damn ties and rip the fairings off.....

i wouldnt ever purchase a bike w/ zipties on it unless i was paying the guy in wampam...

AMEN! I HATE buying things for my truck... I'd rather build them. though I really need to learn to weld... and get another Toyota Pickup before I start doing that again...

the X isn't for off roading... no matter how much they advertise it as just that...

Zip ties are like Duct tape, Sea Foam, and WD40... mandatory items in your garage... but like Duct Tape... mandatory in every vehicle's emergency kit

Buell must have thought they were non-essential b/c the headlights on the Firebolt are FUCKING WORTHLESS. Might as well just disconnect them.

Do like trip and put LEDs on your helmet. HID kits aren't that expensive, and i'm sure someone makes one for your bike.

Mine is only low beam also. Cost 120. I just wired up both of my headlights to high beam, then adjusted the lights to where they shine fucking far without blinding anyone.

That's why they fixed that prob on the 1125's.
Though I still want to get HID's.

I use zip ties in addition to bolts to hold my license plate on. Almost lost it once when 1 bolt fell out so now I keep the zip ties on there just in case.

Aside from holding various wiring, I only use zip-ties on my forks to see where I'm bottoming, and to keep the hamsters from flying off my spokes.
