So I keep hearing that when I finally go to my 520 (-1/+2) that I shouldn't get Vortex sprockets because of their life span. I keep hearing that around the 1st year they start to wear and chip teeth. Have you guys had any problems with them? Do they have a warranty? I am looking for a decent sprocket set, that I don't have to pay out the ass for. Any help would be great! Thanks

I had a set on my bike when I got it. Garbage. They were worn down about 1/2 as much as gasman's picture and he said he put em on the year before.

I'm running JK sprockets now. I'll probably go for Renthal next though. These came as a set with a Regina z-ring chain.

Good ole steel sprockets FTW!

vortex makes some decent stuff, sprockets arent among their decent products though. I'd rather run sunstar, JT, Renthal, or regina over vortex. I hear sprocket specialists makes some decent products.

You might as well carve a sprocket out of cream cheese...it'll last longer.

A FUCKIN MEN!!

Ebbs is right... my hate for them has always been very public. The short story is this... on a trip to the gap when that shit happen. Had to have the wife overnight me an old sprocket to use... FTW

Pretty much what I have been hearing. I guess you get what you pay for, right?

I've been using Sprocket Specialists for years and they've always been pretty durable. I've had a Supersprox on order for a while, but it's taking some time to get because I have Marvics on my gixxer and the backorder list is huge apparently...

+1

All their aluminum is hard-adonized, and I've gotten about 15K from them.

If you want more mileage than that, stick with steel.
