The top one stuck in pretty good, but the barbs are only about .25" long. They are designed kinda like the end of a fish hook. The electricity has some type of cauterizing (sp?) effect. Most people don't bleed. I bled a little, and the one in her but had a drop of blood.

It is unbelievable pain. The only way I can describe it is a cramp in every muscle, including you face, and at the same time, someone is hitting you with a bat. It is the longest five seconds ever. 50,000 volts, but low amps. that's why it doesn't kill you.

I tried to get the lady cop that used to do security work for my previous employer to hit me with the taser, but she never would do it.
Apparently the PD makes them account for every cartridge (to prevent 'misuse').
She wouldn't even hit me with the stun gun portion. :rolleyes:

Different people react differently. She was like me. Everything froze up. There was no way she could say anything. The barbs don't hurt coming out. It is a lot like a bee sting.

As for the cartridges, yes there are matched with the officer. Also, when they are fired, hundreds of little bits of paper come out each with a serial number on it matching it to the cartridge.

Also, the gun stores information like time, date, number of times the current is turned on. That way if a guy says, "they tasered me 5 times" the info can be downloaded for verification.

Oh, and BTW, when the barbs are sticking in you, they can hit the juice again for another 5 seconds.

Yep, that's what Chantal told me.
I guess I can't blame her, I think APD was already under scrutiny for being a little too free with their taser usage at the time.

Most guys at my work have been arrested and tased at some point. I love hearing their stories. My favorite is one guy who was in prison and was acting up on purpose. Well he taped some notebooks around his chest before going after a gaurd. The gaurd hit him and he yanked it out but the funny part is he said 'What are you going to do now bitch" and then he got tased by a stun gun on his shoulder from another gaurd. Said he dropped immediately.

They've got to make penetration to be effective, so whats the deal? are we talking a half inch of deep tissue infiltration?

They really aren't bad coming out. You end up with something similar to a bee sting. And it's all relative. Yu just had 50,000 volts hit you. A little barbed wire isn't too bad.
