Thought i better check the air filter while i had it apart changing the plugs, thought it would look new since its only got about 2,000 miles on it, i was wrong, it was NASTY, has to be hurting performance kinda nasty! I contribute this to the ram-air, but anyway, more money spent on ebay, might as well change the oil and brake fluid while i'm at it....

so have you checked your air filter lately? maybe ya should , especially you with ram air bikes

depends on the type of weather you were riding in-awhile back we had alotta fires, put lots of ash in the air. if you cant clean the one you got, when you buy a new one make sure its a cleanable one, bmc and k&n are highly recommended by most ppl, i got a bmc race on my suz

fleck-put some velocity stacks on that thing, wont have to worry bout cleanin pods again :kawi:

Probably 6. But they wouldn't make it that far, I'd be ripping their little heads off first. :)

2 times per year - once at the beginning, once half way through.

Pods are easier to get to than the stock air box, but they don't do too well in rain and wind. I have thighs of steel from trying to keep the wind out of them here in KS.

I haven't changed anything on my 07 600rr since I got it 2 years ago except oil/filter and chain lube. Come May, I'll do the plugs, air filter and brake fluid...and maybe the fork oil too.

I usually go over the bike at the start of every riding season, regardless of what had just been done prior to winter.

So what kind of filter you put in it?

You should get a BMC filter. Street of course, I don't think I'd trust the race filter on the street.

I have BMC filters in my Hayabusa and TLR. It is surprising the junk you find in the airbox and on the filter.

I clean and re-oil mine every winter when I do the winter maintenance on both bikes.
