New (used) calipers for the new brakes. had to replace the right side cause apparently these pieces of shit arent designed to withstand impacts with guard rails at high velocity. They've been sittin for a while and those bolts holding the blocks together are nasty looking.

Best way to clean em? think i'll have to actually take apart the caliper? i've never stripped em down anymore than they are right now.

Brakeclean... though mind the rubber... as it'll eat it. but it's good shit

ahh... ok... well.. either get a plastic container... and fill it up with brake clean... or degreaser... let it sit for a while... simple

but yeah you'll have to take the calipers apart...

or just be really through with an old tooth brush and degreaser (brakeclean will eat the toothbrush)

you could also use carb cleaner... its nicer on rubber parts...

No need to take the calipers apart, unless you need to replace the seals. You might want to look under the boots and see what's hiding in there.

Then I'd just flush them out.

And fer gawd sakes, stop abusing them with brake cleaner. That stuff is meant for pads and rotors, and it will stain the shit out of aluminum if you aren't careful. Some Simple Green will get the calipers as clean as they'll ever need to be.

Wire brush (brass) the bolts, and give them a light coat of anti-seize. That will solve your corrosion problems.

I use wd 40 to clean brake parts, then I rinse with water and non-ionic surfactant solution before re-installing the parts. I don't mix wd 40 with brake fluid. I don't get brake fluid on any part of my bike after calipers are installed. Don't know what y'all are freaking about. You do rinse your parts after cleaning and before installing...right?

if by rinse you mean piss all over them, yes.
