I just put all my laundry in the dryer and what do I find in my bottom of my washing machine?

My 30G Ipod:panic:

I hope it dries out and still works, it was a present.

CRAP!!!!

I hope it dries out. You need to leave it for at least a couple of weeks before you try.

My brother in law did that to my sisters Ipod a few months ago. It wasn't working and she told him that he was buying her a new one. She was just telling me the other day that it still works.

Hope you get lucky.

Try putting into a bag with rice, it might draw the liquid out. I have had a co-worker do this with his phone he dropped in the lake and it still works.

I did a full cycle with one of my old cellphones. I just popped it open as much as I could, let it dry 24 hours and started right up.

Mp data lost or anything.

Ouch... Well, bright side: at least it's clean. :)

Might want to do a quick search and see if you can take it apart to help speed the process. I have taken apart my ipod mini to replace the battery.

Just put it in some sunshine...

Just put it in some sunshine...

As long as thats not behind a window. Could end up melting the plastic.

I would do the rice instead of the sunshine.

The rice will act as a desicant and draw the moisture out.

The sun will just cause the water to vaporize. Not neccesarily dry it out.

if you go to a craft store - they have those moisture beads that you find in packets with purses, shoes etc to keep them dry. They're very inexpensive - buy a bag and put the ipod in there for several days...

Ouch.
My Creative MuVo went through the washer & dryer with no problems, but it's a lot simpler than an iPod.

Not much to add as far as advice... it's my impression that Apple makes everything difficult to take apart, but if you can, that's your best bet...

I like the rice or moisture beads. Water isn't very damaging per say, but you really need to get it dry before using it.

I would have no idea how to take it apart! And if i did, being as impatient as i am, i'll end up breaking it.

I'll look into the moisture beads, right now the water that collected behind the screen has evaporated. I live in the desert, the air leaches water out of everything!

Gina, put it in a rice bag. ;)

The rice does the exact same thing as the moisture beads.

it works! Kind of...It plays again but the backlight doesn't come on. Well the most important part is that it still plays. Do you think if i bought it to the Apple store they can fix the light?

I think it would be worth it to try.

Every time I've dropped my phone in the water, I just take out the battery and take a blowdryer to it. Works every time. And no, its not my blowdryer, I borrow from friends.

Why even deny it? Everyone here already harasses you for your homo-tendencies. :)

Exactly. I'm trying to at least slow it down. It actually hasn't been nearly as bad lately, but I haven't been posting as much lately.

I don't think that's possible with an iPod..
