What is it and why

For me either an 09MV F4, Busa 06 pearl white or husky 510r

Im all about being different and love these bikes. Desperately wanting a tard (even though it will mean the death of me)

As long as I have a smaller bike in the garage for the twisties(which I do), I'd like to get a Busa or a ZX -14 to use more so for touring/spirited rides with a bit more comfort.

Mine changes every few days I think but right now its still between a 07-09 cbr600rr (esp the white/silver 07 like trips) or a 2006+ gsxr750. Hopefully Ill have a real job in the next year and will have something new.

two extremes for me........

'09 zx6r or '09 Buell xb12r

realistically..... '04-'07 gsxr750

It will all depend on whether I have a good job by then or not, as well as my riding experience....

Good job:
2009 Triumph Daytona 675
or
2008 Ducati 848

No good job:
05/06 zx-6r 636
or
07/08 zx-6r

Well I don't really know when I will own another bike. I still own my Gix but I left it in Atlanta after it was totaled. I was originally a fan of the R6 so maybe I would get the 50th anniversary or something. I sat on one and it just felt weird to me, but I know that would go away with some riding time.

Talk about a badass sport tourer.

I thought sport tourers were supposed to be reliable, low maintenance, and get at least halfway decent gas mileage.

For me, something like a Kawi ZRX1200R or Aprilia Tuono. I love torque, but I'm looking to avoid bodywork and have something that is easier on the knees. ;)

I am lucky enough to have a good stable now, I would love the new Ducati 1198S but not enough to shuffle toys. I keep looking for a mid 70s bike to Cafe ,, Have to be careful cause the wife thinks that our combined 6 bikes are enough..

A GS or similar adv touring bike

Apoc
04-16-2009, 07:49 AM
Only sportbikes i would own again would be a twin. Another RC51 or a TLR, or even a 998...

Or an RC8..... Yum...

But the bike I really want is the Ducati 1100 Hypermotard. I am in love with that.

But between the Harley, the arctic Cat, and the truck im looking to buy in the near enough future, it will be a couple of years before I can realisticly afford another new motorcycle. Ill be car loan free in 6 months (for about a day), and i'd like to pay off the sled in the same time frame. But i still owe about 19k on the Harley. I'm all toy'd out.

Plus, next winter im considering trying a snowmobile endurance race with a friend of mine (team race), which is going to cost about 6000$ total (between two people).

Im gonna be bike poor for a while...

I cant see myself riding anything other than a 750. Possibly an 848 or even a Daytona 675.

04-16-2009, 09:22 AM
I have no clue since I like my 07 R1 pretty much.

In my mind it will either be an 09 R1 or a Ducati 1098 or 1198.

Now if I just add to the stable and keep the R1 it will probably be a cruiser type like a V-Rod...a Victory Vegas Jackpot or a Star Raider.

its nothing against you man but with so many cylinder crank and even rotor options out there ive never understood why someone would get exclusive to one type. Personally, in an ideal world id want one of everything. Wonder if someone could make a sports bike around a small radial? :Rockwoot:

My next bike(s) will be a VFR from each generation, plus a few parts bikes. Although I may also get a Concours 1000 for my next just because I LOVE those machines. call me an old fart, IDGAF, 21 isnt too young to wanna live life in the slowlane and see the world a little.

I am completely eat up with desire for another Duc. Any of the 4-valve bikes are great, but I really want to find a 900SS/SP. Easy to service, lasts a long time and makes beautiful music. There is one on e-bay in Jacksonville that looks tempting, but I will have to force myself to sell my Honda before I can roll on one.

I do get distracted though. There is an Aprilia RSV Mille locally for $5800. that looks sweet.

Same for me...saw a Formula a few years ago and thought it was the cat's ass...

Bought a used one ('99 with about 7500 miles on it, nice shape) rode it three times, it left me stranded 3 times (electrical twice, busted balance shaft once.... and last..fixed it, and sent it on down the line.........). Bike was underpowered for what it was...looked great, handled nice, unique.....just don't buy one that had ever spent ANY time near redline... oiling system was marginal, so top end issues were common on bikes that had done track days and the balance shaft issues were supposedly fixed with the mid-run 668's before they punched the motor out to 750....not true. The right side counterweight was on too flimsy a shaft/bearing journal....so at high rpms(500 rpm BELOW redline) the counterweight would start to whip the end of the shaft.....stress cracks would start and WHAM..........lots of expensive noises........

its even a v4. just like the GP bike  is it bad when the sport tourer has more in common the GP prototype than the supersport 600s and 1000s do? i sure think so

dont forget the Z1000

I like the looks of the Z1K, but it's physically too small for me (I'm 6'6"). I haven't tried the older generation, but the current generation looks like a pocketbike under me.

I've thought about it, but that would definitely hurt my hanging-off abilities, and the seat-to-clipon distance would still be too short. I don't like having my hands right next to my knees. ;)

The only problem with my bike is its not a true 800. I cry at night because of it.

COME ON 7TH GEN with yo 1000cc V4 and gear cams and get rid of the useless vtec. Make daddy happy.

and making it look more like this one

I purchased an original body set

I also have a set of ported cylinders, brand new wiseco piston set, a good crank and plenty of nice chrome pieces.

And your point is????????

OK, you talked me into it :dthumb: One of the guys on the triple forum just got an '83 ELR and he loves it. He said it hit 140 without even trying :rockout:

Money wise, I already have the '74 H1 500 and pretty much everything to completely restore it.

the rc211v had a v5 since they moved to 800 the rc212v has 4. Honda was the only manufacturer pushing a five. Ducati and suzuki run v4s kawi and yamaha run inline fours with crossplane cranks and when they still competed aprilia ran a triple

hmm well as much time as Ive spent thinking about it you would think I would have an answer ready, but like most of us Im having a hard time narrowing it down to one. Ill do my best though. Assuming I get to keep my current bike I would go with either. a 09 Vulcan 900 custom (in burnt orange) or a vulcan 2000 probably not popular choices but my dad is a HUGE vulcan fan and it has kinda rubbed off on me now. If I have to exchange my current bike for a new one I would just go with a brand spankin new GSXR 750. I know its boring but I haven't ridden enough bikes to really wish for anything specific and I really like my GSXR.

After rethinking it, I'd prefer an 87 ZX1000 in red/black, an 88,and 90 ZX10, the 05 10R, a ZX11, and some manner of brand new 10R as well. just so I can ride each to appreciate the progression from the ancient ones to modern.

theyd all have to be refurbed for the full effect. Be a great project
